If you’ve loved seeing “All My Children’s” Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee Smythe) serve as the co-host of “The Better Show,” a syndicated talk show that just begun its seventh season, you’re in for a treat: Her debut was just the start of a very exciting week ahead that will feature not only one but two popular daytime stars!
It seems everyone is hopping aboard the healthy living train these days, and the cast of “Days of our Lives” isn’t excluded: Several of the sudser’s stars have opened up and shared their secrets on how to live a healthier and more balanced life for the show’s newest book, ‘Days of our Lives’ Better Living: Cast Secrets for a Healthier Balanced Life, which hits newsstands on Tuesday, September 24! And with just 19 more days to go until the big day, several of the stars featured are gearing up for a national tour to promote the book that they’re hoping will change your lives forever!
She may be the Queen of Soaps, but Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, “All My Children;” Genevieve Delatour, “Devious Maids”) didn’t let the royal title stop her from donning quite a peculiar piece of clothing during her time in the “AMC” spotlight.
The Emmy-winning actress attended the NFL Women’s Apparel’s fashion presentation Tuesday at Grand Central Terminal in New York, where she not only wowed in a sequined New York Giants top and glittery floor length skirt, but also revealed her quirkiest item of clothing. “I don’t want to get rid of it; I’ve had it a long time,” she tells Newsday. “It’s a little yellow cropped jacket and it’s a life vest — it has lights and a whistle — and when things got really long and crazy at work on ‘All My Children,’ I would put on my life vest.”
Not exactly the crown you’d expect from La Lucci, but then again, you just never know when it comes to her and fashion — especially because her couture mantra is to be quite daring. “Don’t be afraid to try things,” she urges. “You’ll know if it works, and if it doesn’t, at least you’ve tried.”
Senior Concerns is hosting the 28th annual Ultimate Dining Experience this month, and it’s truly going to be ultimate, as “The Young and the Restless’” Jerry Douglas (ex-John Abbott) and his wife, Kym (a beauty expert seen on shows like ‘The View,’ ‘The Doctors’ and ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’), are co-hosting this year’s event!
The dining experience, which takes place Sunday, September 15, begins with chef’s samplings along with beer and wine tastings, followed by a three-course dinner showcasing creations from Hyatt Westlake Plaza, I’d Rather Be Baking, Mastros, May’s Kitchen, North Ranch Country Club, Paul Martin’s American Grill, Westlake Culinary Institute and the Westlake Village Inn.
For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Senior Concerns official website.
Anyone who’s been watching “The Young and the Restless” knows that the mother of all babydaddy storylines is about to play out between Chelsea McAvoy (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Michael Muhney), meaning that the cacophony of sweet “oohs” and “aahs” recently heard over baby Connor will quickly be turning into a frenzy of screaming arguments! Soap Opera Network sat down with Muhney to get his take on how his alter ego is going to react to the news that Chelsea’s baby is really his own, and the actor teases that the drama to come will make you cry like a — you guessed it — baby!
It was a rare day when “All My Children’s” Greenlee helped anyone but herself, but it’s a whole different story for her former portrayer, Rebecca Budig, whose new gig is exactly the opposite! It was just announced this morning that the Emmy-nominated actress has been named co-host for “The Better Show,” an information talk show that incorporates Better Homes and Gardens, Parents, Family Circle, More and Fitness magazines along with entertainment, celebrity interviews, food, fashion and DIY-related content.
We’ve been keeping a little secret for over a month now, and we can finally reveal what we’ve been dying to report: Charles Shaughnessy and Patsy Pease are returning to “Days of our Lives” as Shane Donovan and Kimberly Brady!
Eileen Davidson may still be airing as “Days of our Lives’” Kristen DiMera, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for “The Young and the Restless,” which has signed the actress to return as Ashley Abbot later this year!
A rep confirms that the popular daytime diva will be heading back to Genoa City for three episodes in late October. However, no further details are being released at this time.
Meanwhile, fans of the show can look forward to yet another soap opera staple to appear onscreen this fall: The spokesperson says that Marshall Hilliard — best known for his previous roles as “DAYS” Dylan and “Guiding Light’s” Hart Jessup — is slated to appear in Genoa City as a cop.
The drama just never stops for Prospect Park’s “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” with the latest shocking news regarding the online sudsers coming from the L.A. Times. According to the publication, Prospect Park is shelving ‘One Life to Live’ until the lawsuit it launched against ABC in April is resolved. Additionally, the company will focus on producing “AMC,” with writers having already started work on scripts for the second season of the show.
“The Young and the Restless” brought the soap opera community to tears this past May with an emotional and very well planned memorial for the late Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor), who passed away due to an illness that same month. And now the sudser is pulling out all of the stops yet again to honor the character Cooper played for 40 years. The emotional storyline has already begun to play out with several of Genoa City’s residents receiving letters from the grand dame, and Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) says this is just the start of a powerful story arc that will change the small Wisconsin town in more ways than one.
