Event planner David Tutera is known for his extraordinary, jaw-dropping parties and weddings for the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Matthew McConaughey, Elton John and “All My Children” star Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane), and now he’s headed to bring one lucky couple from “The Young and the Restless’” Genoa City his help in creating a magical, dream wedding!
A ‘Y&R’ spokesperson confirms that the host of WE’s “My Fair Wedding with David Tutera” will be appearing on two episodes of the famed sudser, where he’ll lend a helping hand to two mystery characters after they experience a very special Christmas Eve engagement!
Look for the first of Tutera’s episodes to air on Wednesday, January 22. And to get a peek at some of the planner’s fabulous weddings and parties, check out his official website.
Once the news hit that “The Young and the Restless’” Michael Muhney had been let go from the CBS soap, rumors began circling that his co-star, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), not only could have had a hand in Muhney’s fate, but also that he influenced Maura West’s (Ava Jerome, “General Hospital;” ex-Diane Jenkins, “Y&R”) exit from the soap, as well! Upon hearing the news, both Braeden and West took to Twitter to set the rumors straight.
The quick switcheroo from Chandler Massey to Guy Wilson in the role of “Days of our Lives’” Will Horton is about to commence: As previously reported, Wilson’s first day as Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) son will take place the first week in January, and an exact day has finally be revealed! Also revealed is when you’ll get your last glimpse at Massey in Salem.
As we previously reported, former “All My Children” actress Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee Smythe) will be appearing on tonight’s episode of the drama series “Blue Bloods.”
Titled “Ties That Bind,” the episode features Budig as Connie, the wife of Mickey (Tom Cavanagh), a childhood friend of Danny (Donnie Wahlberg). And things might just get a bit crazy, because Mickey’s under investigation for having ties to an infamous mob family!

It looks like “Grey’s Anatomy” star Chandra Wilson and hospitals are a match made in heaven: She’s temporarily taking a break from her “Grey’s” Seattle hospital home and visiting “General Hospital’s” Port Charles!
“I grew up with [“GH”]; it holds such a place in my heart,” the actress told Soaps In Depth, who broke the story. “Even though we’ve shared the same lot for 10 years, I can’t talk to anybody on the lot… it’s weird to see them because they’re supposed to be in Port Charles! I have that kind of fan disconnect.”
Ever walk into a room and get a resounding boo? “General Hospital’s” Parry Shen (Brad Cooper) sure has, but the New York native took it in stride. When several people at this year’s “GH” Fan Club weekend shouted their disapproval upon Shen’s arrival to the event, he laughed it off and took it as par for the course.
“I got a cacophony of boos, but it’s been nice that people have sort of been able to realize that [Brad] is just an evil heel to have around,” Shen told Soap Opera Network. “I’ve been reading everything — the good and the bad — about how inappropriate he is and… what I really was surprised about was some people are picking up on the humor that I’m trying to inject. I was really happy about that, because I wasn’t sure if that was going over people’s heads or if they were having a knee-jerk reaction, like, ‘This guy is such a douche!’”
The cast and crew of “The Young and the Restless” have a major milestone to smile about: The CBS sudser has officially marked its 25 year anniversary of being the number one rated soap opera on national television! In honor of the very special occasion, Soap Opera Network spoke with longtime castmember Doug Davidson (Paul Williams), who’s been with the show since 1978, to discuss the elements that have gone into keeping “Y&R” in the coveted top-notch position for so long.
Lasting a quarter of a century as the number one show in its genre is quite a feat, and it’s one that Davidson and the rest of the “Y&R” cast and crew credits to creator William J. Bell, who poured his heart and soul into putting together a believable product with a rich cast of characters. “It’s an amazing streak of time [being in the number one spot],” Davidson begins. “It’s been absolutely fabulous and a testament to Bill and what he started 40 years ago. I know that when I was working closely with him, [writing the show was] pretty much all he did. I had visions of him Christmas morning, when his kids were opening packages, taking notes on wrapping paper about what he wanted his characters to do. And I know to some degree, it was very true. I mean, he just wouldn’t stop thinking about it.”
Just when you thought you’d seen soap star Crystal Hunt in the most outlandish situations ever (in her roles as stripper Stacy Morasco on “One Life to Live” and bratty diva Lizzie Spaulding on “Guiding Light”), she goes and pulls a real-life stunt that outshines any of her previous onscreen shenanigans: She reportedly smashed glass in a woman’s face during a soap-topping bar brawl!
If you live in the Sooner State and are a fan of “The Young and the Restless,” then you’re in for a post-holiday treat: Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher) will be stopping by for a special (and free!) meet and greet!
The actor will be visiting the Cherokee Casino in Ramona, Oklahoma, on Saturday, January 25, from 6PM to 7:15PM and Sunday, January 26, from 10AM to 11AM. Catch the popular star at “The Watering Hole,” which is located inside the casino.
For more information on Cherokee Casino Ramona, check out the establishment’s official website.
There’s a rumor going around that former “All My Children” star Vincent Irizarry (ex-David Hayward) has been tapped to play the role of “General Hospital’s” Valentin Cassadine — a role former “AMC” star Matthew Borlenghi (ex-Brian Bodine) had been cast to play before the storyline was scrapped back in 2009. And when Borlenghi caught wind of the supposed recast, his online comments prompted “GH” headscribe, Ron Carlivati, to shed some news on the Irizarry casting rumor!
