( — Casting News for the Week of February 25.

The custody trial for Baby Jack between Taylor Forrester (Hunter Tylo, pictured) and Nick Marone (Jack Wagner) is in full force as “The Bold and the Beautiful” brings in multiple characters to add to the drama.

Rob Brownstein portrays Judge Friedman on February 29 and March 3.

MacKenzie Mauzy returns beginning Thursday, February 28 as “Phoebe” shows her support for Taylor. Joining her will be Meeghan Holaway as Taylor’s attorney Gloria Schiller . Holaway has appeared on “B&B” off-and-on since 2005. She airs February 29 and March 3.

Mykel Shannon Jenkins and Dan Martin continue their roles as Detective Charlie Baker and Lt. Bradley ‘Brad’ Baker, respectively, on February 25 at the request of Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery). Will Storm (William deVry) be sent to prison? Stay tuned!

    ( — “As The World Turns” finds new Mike Kasnoff, albeit a younger one.

    Jon Prescott, 26, is joining the cast of the CBS drama series in March as Mike Kasnoff #3. He takes over the role from Mark Collier, 37, who exited the soap in 2007. The character is returning to Oakdale with a new business venture on his mind and thoughts of ex-wife Katie (Terri Colombino), who is involved in some baby drama with co-host Brad Snyder (Austin Peck).

    Also joining the cast of “World Turns” is Tala Ashe who will play the role of Ameera, a muslim girl with ties to Noah’s (Jake Silbermann) father. Ameera will turn Oakdale upside down when she debuts on Friday, February 22.

    Chris Hartl and Will Poston appear as “Chad” and “Grant”, two frat boys who cause trouble for Luke (Van Hansis), Noah (Silberman) and Ameera (Ashe) on the February 28 episode. The soap went on location at the State Line Look Out in New Jersey for their scenes.

      ( — “General Hospital” to honor the memory of actress Shell Kepler (ex-Nurse Amy Vining), who passed away on February 1, 2008.

      The soap will honor the memory of Kepler with an “In Loving Memory of Shell Kepler” graphic, which will appear at the end of the Tuesday, February 26 episode.

      The actress played Nurse Vining for 23 years (1979 to 2002) on the ABC soap.

        ( — Over the weekend mystery photos appeared on ABC’s press site that showed multiple “One Life to Live” actors appearing in scenes on the ABC Daytime drama series. At least that’s what people thought.

        In preparation for their Fantasy Baseball season, ESPN has joined forces with ABC Daytime for their “Endless Drama” marketing campaign – “Endless Drama” is a series of commercials centered around the drama brought to fantasy baseball. The network came to ABC Daytime seeking soap actors to “bring added drama” to their promotional spots for the campaign.

        “All My Children” actors Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery) and Rebecca Budig (Greenlee Smythe) and “One Life to Live’s” John Paul Lavoiser (Rex Balsom), David Fumero (Cristian Vega), Bree Williamson (Jessica Buchanan) and John Brotherton (Jared Banks) are all set to appear in the upcoming commercials. Joining in on the fun is David Andrew MacDonald (pictured; “Guiding Light,” “Another World”), who despite reports, is not coming to Llanview in the near future.

        Also set to appear are Major League Baseball players Torii Hunter from the LA Angels, Chase Utley from the Philadelphia Phillies, Jorge Posada from the NY Yankees and Hanley Ramirez from the Florida Marlins.

        The commercial spots were filmed on the “One Life to Live” set in New York City on Thursday, February 14 and Friday, February 15.

        “One Life to Live” executive producer Frank Valenti directed the commercials, which are set to begin airing on all ESPN Networks and the internet on Monday, March 3.

          ( — Former “As The World Turns” bad boy Shawn Christian joins the cast of “Days of our Lives” as Salem University Hospital’s newest hot doctor.

          Beginning Tuesday, March 4, Christian begins airing on the NBC soap as Dr. Daniel Jonas. The character is first introduced to Chelsea Brady (Rachel Melvin) by Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). Dr. Jonas is said to be heavily involved in the upcoming Bo Brady storyline.

          Christian made his television debut on CBS’s “As The World Turns” in 1994 as the original Mike Kasnoff. He has also appeared in such primetime series as “Pacific Palisades,” “Beverly Hills, 90210″ and more recently as Johnny Durant on The WB’s “Summerland.” The series aired for two seasons on the network and co-starred Lori Loughlin (“Full House”) and singer-actor Jesse McCartney (“All My Children”).

          Shawn can next be seen on the big screen in “Starship Dave” with Eddie Murphy, “Small Town Saturday Night” with Chris Pine (“American Dreams”) and “Killer Moves,” which are all due out for release later this year.

          According to Soap Opera Digest, Christian began taping on Monday, February 11.

          ( — Elmarie Wendel joins the cast of “General Hospital” in the recurring role of Peg.

          While Jax (Ingo Rademacher) puts private investigators on the search for Michael (Dylan Cash) in order to ease Carly’s (Laura Wright) pain over the disappearance of her son, Michael finds himself taking refuge in a cabin, where he encounters a craggy old woman [Peg] beginning Thursday, February 28.

          Peg meets Michael as a result of his shooting Kate Howard (Megan Ward) with an illegal weapon on the February 18 episode of the ABC drama series. The soap aired a public service announcement about the dangers of gun violence at the conclusion of said episode.

          Wendel is best known to viewers as Mrs. Mamie Dubcek on NBC’s “3rd Rock From the Sun” from 1996-2001. She has also appeared on NBC’s “Seinfeld,” ABC’s “NYPD Blue” and “George Lopez.”

          This is Wendel’s first appearance on a daytime soap opera. The actress is repped by Gail Abbott Management.

            ( — David Rasche is returning to daytime television later this month as Pine Valley’s newest devil in disguise.

            Last seen in daytime as Wes Leonard in the 1980′s on ABC’s “Ryan’s Hope,” Rasche will play Tad Martin’s uncle, Rob Gardner, beginning Friday, February 29. Rob is the brother of Tad’s biological father, Ray Garder (last seen in 2001 as played by Gil Rogers). The character is said to be intimately connected to the story of Jesse’s (Darnell Williams) death twenty years ago.

            The actor started taping last week.

            Rasche is best known for his infamous roles in such primetime series as “Sledge Hammer,” “Nurses,” and “Suddenly Susan.” His film credits include “The Sentinel” with Michael Douglas, “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” with Sandra Bullock, and “United 93.” He’ll next appear as Thomas Sparrow in the film “The Spy and the Sparrow,” which is due out later this year. The film co-stars Eric Roberts (“Another World”) and Elisabeth Rohm (“One Life to Live”).

              Is Logan Really the Text Message Killer?

              ( — The Buildup is worth the wait.


              After an embarrassing visit with Sonny, Claudia finds a bloody and unconscious Kate on the docks after she was shot by Michael’s gun. Claudia walks away before Kate is found by a devastated Sonny. Remembering his father’s previous warnings, Michael goes on the run. Sonny shares words with Jason about how business effects their family lives. Carly tells Jason that she is pregnant but her mood changes when Jason brings up the night of Sam’s accident. Carly panics when she learns that Michael is missing. Jax tries to calm his wife down.

              Ric and Marianna grow closer, but Marianna’s guilt could destroy them. Jerry calls Ric to inform him of Kristina’s breakdown. Ric finds Marianna at the mercy of an abusive Randy. Marianna reveals her citizenship status to Ric. Elizabeth tends to a battered Marianna at the request of Ric, who wishes Elizabeth could see how much he’s changed for the better.

              THE INSIDE STORY

              Lulu questions a guilty looking Logan about the Text Message murders. Logan proclaims his innocence by admitting that he tried to frame Johnny for the murders in order to prevent Lulu and Johnny from growing closer. Fearing for her life, Lulu knocks Logan out and screams for help just as Johnny kicks down the door looking to save her. Once again, Port Charles citizens, including Scott Baldwin (Logan’s father), believe that the Text Message killings will cease when it is “revealed” that Logan is the killer. Patrick frantically works to save Logan’s life. Maxie has it out with Lulu after learning of Logan’s possible involvement in Georgie’s murder. Maxie makes it clear she wants Logan dead. Lulu tells Johnny that she doesn’t think Logan is the Text Message Killer. Maxie enters Logan’s hospital room with vengeance on her mind. Maxie is able to stop herself from doing the unthinkable thanks to memories of Coop. Johnny and Lulu get intimate.

              - Ian clashes with Robin and Patrick over Nikolas’ medical case.

              - Nadine urges Nikolas to get his vision of Emily to tell him more of the night she died.

              ( — After weeks of speculation, Soap Opera Network can now confirm that actress Arianne Zuker is returning to NBC’s “Days of our Lives” in the role of Nicole Walker.

              Zuker, who left “DAYS” in 2006,” was rumored to be returning to the soap after message boards began discussing what further changes the show would be making after it was announced that Martha Madison (Belle) and Brandon Beemer (Shawn D.) were being released from their contracts. Her return in March now gives a clearer picture as to what viewers can expect in Salem’s future.

              Zuker can next be seen in the film “The Last Resort,” a film about a Bachelorette party gone awry. The film, set for release later this year, co-stars America Olivo (ex-Marianna, ‘GH’).
