(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- Brian Frons, President, Daytime, Disney/ABC Television Group (pictured right wearing sun glasses), went into the ABC Upfront on Tuesday, May 17 knowing he was the most hated man in television today. Frons inherited the title from former NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker and all it took was a bunch of protesting fans to get the message across as they booed the executive while he walked across the street from Lincoln Center to an ABC After party at the Atlantic Grill restaurant. So how does the man that canceled a collective 83-years of daytime drama respond to angry...

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- Pardon me soap fans for being harsh, but It has now been more than a month since ABC canceled "All My Children" and "One Life to Live." It has been nearly two weeks since reports surfaced that "General Hospital" might be in danger of cancellation as well. Since the news broke on that awful Thursday afternoon, message boards and websites all around the world have been flooded with your comments. A failed protest on Tuesday, April 26 in New York City included police presence, but the Los Angeles protest outside of Disney's Burbank headquarters was a joke....

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- Don't worry soap fans, ABC isn't creating another "The" show...at least none that we've heard of. However, there was a major clue right under our noses that the network was going to be canceling your favorite daytime soaps "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" just one day before the announcement was made. Beginning at 7:00 AM (unclear if it was eastern or pacific time) on Wednesday, April 13, the network posted the first images of "The Chew" crew on their website, ABC.com, along with a description of the series and a biography of the hosts.According...

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- After beginning her press tour in promotion of her new memoir "All My Life," Susan Lucci vehemently denied rumors of "All My Children's" demise as anything but and that said rumors were not coming from ABC. While ABC didn't publicly create the rumor, they sure didn't deny it either...except to Lucci and the cast members and crews at "AMC" and "One Life to Live" after the idea of the two being canceled escalated beyond the networks control in the press. So why did the network leave Lucci to look like a fool on national television for weeks,...

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- In its latest issue on newsstands now, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that there are rumors that "All My Children's" Chrishell Stause (Amanda Martin) will be leaving the recently canceled soap opera prior to its January 2012 finale, even though the soap last airs on Friday, September 23, 2011 and yes, they wrote that in their magazine, not I. (SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- Currently appearing on The CW's "90210," rumors persist that actor Freddie Smith will be joining the cast of NBC's "Days of our Lives" in a contract role. Some of the rumors are going as far as to say that he will portray the love interest of Will Horton (Chandler Massey), who is also rumored to be the character the soap will reveal as being gay. When contacted by Soap Opera Network, a "DAYS" representative confirmed that it is indeed a rumor, but could not confirm published reports. A representative for Smith was unable to provide any details on...

Additional reporting by Angela Rosa (SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- While it was widely expected to happen, ABC is now confirming that Thorsten Kaye has indeed signed on to return to "All My Children" in the role of Zach Slater, the presumed dead husband of Kendall Hart Slater, as the daytime soap begins counting down to its final episode. Kaye is "coming back sometime later this summer" reports an ABC representative to Soap Opera Network in confirming the news. Based on a posting on his official website the actor will begin filming in late June, which would place his first airdate as late July...

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- As of this writing, ratings for the week of May 2-6, 2011 have not been released to us by Nielsen Media Research. With that in mind, based on the latest information we have (week of April 25-29, 2011), "One Life to Live" has surpassed "General Hospital" as ABC's most watched daytime drama series for the second consecutive week. For fans of the canceled drama series, unfortunately that isn't entirely good news.No one expects ABC to miraculously change its mind after making the devastating announcement that it has opted to cancel "One Life" and "All My Children" in...
