A day after NBC released its fall schedule, FOX stepped up to the plate and made an aggressive play for advertising dollars with the release of its own 2019-2020 schedule that includes the addition of four comedies, six dramas, and a few reality competition series. The network also announced changes to five of six nights. “The Resident” is moving to Tuesdays, leading into “Empire” which moves from Wednesdays and will conclude its run after six seasons. “The Masked Singer” joins the fall schedule on Wednesdays and will also air after the Super Bowl in 2020. “WWE’s Smackdown Live” joins the FOX lineup taking over Fridays. “Bob’s Burgers” takes over the 9:00 p.m. slot on Sunday nights, pushing back “Family Guy,” which will now air at 9:30 p.m. This marks the second time “Family Guy” has been moved from its 9:00 p.m. home in 15 years. Joining the fall lineup are dramas “Not Just Me” and “Prodigal Son” and comedy “Bless the Harts.”

In midseason, the network will launch “9-1-1: Lone Star,” a spinoff of the network’s top-rated series “9-1-1” debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, January 19, immediately following the NFC Championship game, and continuing on Monday, January 20, where it’ll inherit the slot occupied by its parent series during the latter’s midseason hiatus. Other midseason programs include dramas “Deputy,” “Filthy Rich” and “neXt,” comedies “Outmatched” and “Duncanville,” animated comedy “The Great North” and competition program “Ultimate Tag.”
“Last Man Standing” and “The Orville” will return in 2020 for uninterrupted viewing. During the 2019-2020 season, “Family Guy” will celebrate its 350th and “Hell’s Kitchen” will celebrate its 300th episode. “Empire” will air its 100th episode and “The Resident” will air its 50th episode.
Additional shows airing on FOX’s lineup next season include “The Simpsons, “Beat Shazam,” “First Responders Live,” “Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back,” “Masterchef,” “Masterchef Junior,” “Paradise Hotel,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Ultimate Tag” and “Spin the Wheel.”
