THE SCOOP

Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas Cassadine, “General Hospital”) is officially heading to NBC’s “Days of our Lives,” reports Entertainment Weekly.

Christopher, who only began filming at the soap last week is expected to hit the screen sometime later this year, if not early 2018, due to the show’s advanced filming schedule.

As previously reported, Christopher was spotted yesterday on the “DAYS” set alongside actors Louise Sorel (Vivian Alamain), Marci Miller (Abigail Deveraux) and Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera), giving credence to recent rumblings the actor had joined the series. Additionally, keen fans noted the actor recently began following both “DAYS” Twitter accounts (@nbcdays @DaysofourLives) and co-executive producer Greg Meng (@greg_meng).

In confirming Christopher’s joining “DAYS,” EW notes that his character’s name is being kept under wraps.

Winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal as the tormented prince on “GH,” Christopher officially departed the daytime series last year after taking time off to be with family while talks of a new contract with the soap were underway — the role was temporarily recast with former “Sunset Beach” actor Nick Stabile (ex-Mark Wolper). It was later revealed that just as Christopher was set to return to the soap in the fall of 2016, talks over a new contract “fell apart.” As a result, Christopher never returned to the role he originated in July 1996.
