More than a month since filming what was expected to be his final scenes as Julian Jerome on ABC’s “General Hospital,” following the two sides hitting an impasse during contract negotiations, actor William deVry and the daytime drama series have finally reached a deal that will keep the fan favorite on the soap opera for the foreseeable future.
“Great news,” wrote “GH” executive producer Frank Valentini on Twitter. “Will deVry is staying in Port Charles.” Valentini noted that details on deVry’s return to the soap would be announced at a later date.
“Thanks to fans for your help/support/love!” said deVry following word of a deal hitting the net. “Was always confident, but took awhile, eh?! Let’s enjoy the weekend!”
Just before “GH” went on a three-week summer production hiatus, it was announced that the soap had not reached a deal with deVry over a new contract, leaving fans wondering if they’d ever see a resolution to the popular #Julexis pairing. In the six weeks since, deVry had been hopeful that a deal would be made and that he would in fact return to the soap sometime down the road.
With “GH” already back filming and set to go on another production hiatus this month, it’s unknown when fans can expect to see deVry back on screen.
