THE NUMBERS

Citing newly released Nielsen Media Research ratings data, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” is up during first quarter 2016 over first quarter 2015 in Total Viewers. The daytime drama series averaged 5.38 million viewers during the quarter, which is a gain of 11,000 viewers over the comparable quarter a year ago.

Outside of “Y&R,” both CBS game shows “The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal,” along with the network’s “The Talk,” continue to show ratings growth.

Broken down into two separate programs, “Deal 1” hit all-time first quarter highs in Total Viewers and matched its best performance in Women 18-49 ratings. The program averaged 3.34 million viewers (+2% over last year) and a 0.7/5 in Women 18-49 (+17%). “Deal 2” averaged 3.85 million viewers (+1% over last year) and a 0.8/6 in Women 18-49 (+14%).

Also broken into two separate programs, “Price 1” averaged 5.37 million viewers during first quarter 2016 (+5% over first quarter 2015) and “Price 2” averaged 6.16 million viewers (+4%).

With 2.93 million viewers, “The Talk” is up 3% over first quarter 2015, beating ABC’s competing “The View” (2.91 million viewers). The talk shows tied in both Women 18-49 (0.7/4) and Women 25-54 (1.0/6).

Ratings for “The Bold and the Beautiful” during first quarter 2016 were not available at press time.
