With simultaneous telecasts on both TNT and TBS on Saturday, January 30, “The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards” remembered some of the entertainment world’s best and brightest stars who were lost in the year that was.

During the In Memoriam segment, former “All My Children” actor David Canary (ex-Adam Chandler/ex-Stuart Chandler), who died on November 17, 2015 at The Greens at Cannondale in Wilton, Connecticut, was acknowledged for his work on the daytime soap opera and other entertainment contributions. Canary was just 77 years old.

Outside of his iconic roles on “AMC,” Canary played Mia Farrow‘s physical therapist, Dr. Russ Gehrig, on “Peyton Place.” He also played Steven Frame on “Another World,” before joining “AMC” in 1984.

The actor won five Daytime Emmy Awards (1986, 1988, 1989, 1993 and 2001) for Outstanding Lead Actor for his portrayal of two brothers on the ABC soap.

He also played Candy Canaday in the classic western, “Bonanza.”
