‘GH’s’ Lynn Herring on Possible Return: ‘I Am Not Interested in A Line Here or There’

Since being brought back to ABC's "General Hospital" in a recurring capacity in 2013, actress Lynn Herring has proven time and time again how viable her role as Lucy Coe is to the legacy of the daytime drama series, particularly in regards to the annual Nurses Ball event. Sadly, the soap hasn't provided the actress with enough story potential for her character, whose married so many men in Port Charles that she rivals only Pine Valley's Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) from "All My Children." Herring recently took to Facebook to share her desire to do more than an average day player appearance on the soap.

Sadly, the soap hasn’t provided the actress with enough story potential for her character, who has married so many men in Port Charles that she rivals only Pine Valley’s Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) from “All My Children.” Herring recently took to Facebook to share her desire to do more than an average day player appearance on the soap.

“Thank you all for thinking of me ….. and Lucy, of course, it means so much!” writes Herring. “I am loving ranching and Museum-ing (is that a word?) right now. I do miss playing Lucy but I am not interested in a line here or there or a day once in awhile. All the years of happiness and satisfaction I had playing Lucy are too important to me, and I would never want to belittle all the great memories I have of her adventures. If Frank [Valentini, executive producer] and the writers need Lucy for a story or a firm connection in the show, then I will jump out of my saddle and come running for sure. ”

Although she’d prefer having a meaty storyline that results in more than a blink and you missed it appearance, Herring does address her personal attachment to the Nurses Ball, which she is famous for having Lucy Coe stumble onto the stage in her undergarments.

“Not sure if ‘General Hospital’ is doing the Nurses Ball again this year and if they are, if Lucy is even included,” wrote Herring. “You will be the first to know when I find out! Thank you for all your interest, support and fun comments! Got to head back outside. The river washed out many of our fences and the cows are taking advantage. smile emoticon XO.”
