Brooklyn Rae Silzer, who plays Emma Drake on “General Hospital,” exits the soap, today, and admits she’s “very sad” to be leaving. Unfortunately, the child star became a casualty, when her TV dad Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake) opted to leave the soap and head over to “The Young and the Restless” to take over the role of Billy Abbott.

The GH writers had no choice but to send the newly reunited Patrick and Robin (Kimberly McCullough) and their daughter Emma off to live happily ever after together. However, it ended up being all the way to California — some 3000 miles away from Port Charles, NY.
Silzer expressed her disappointment about Emma moving away to Soap Opera Digest, albeit noting that she understood “this was the best way to write our story since Jason was leaving. Usually, you don’t get to be with the same people for so long on a show and I am so grateful for the most amazing four-and-a-half years of my life that I will cherish forever.”
The young actress, however, is hoping for a return to Port Charles at some point and even suggested an idea that could work: an occasional visit to her grandmother Anna (Finola Hughes), who’s now living alone in the Drake home.
“She might be lonely and need to see Emma! We could have super-long sleepovers!” said Silzer.
Word is the GH writers are hoping to bring Silzer back from time to time. After all, young Emma does have two suitors waiting for her back in Port Charles: Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas J. Bechtel) and Cameron Spencer (Michael Leone).

In the interim, Silzer already has a new project. She’s been cast as Megan Wolf in the pilot, “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.” The series, which stars Alana de la GarzaGary Sinise, Daniel Henney, Tyler James Williams and Annie Funke (Mae), debuts March 2 at 10p on CBS.
