THE NUMBERS

With a streak that began with the week of December 26, 1988, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” has now stood at the top of the Nielsen ratings among total viewers for 27 consecutive years, it was announced today by Angelica McDaniel, Executive Vice President, Daytime Programs and Syndicated Program Development, CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution.

“Spending a few seasons at #1 is a remarkable achievement for any show in television today, but to accomplish 27 years at the top is truly Hall of Fame status,” said McDaniel.

“This success is a testament to the incredible passion and hard work of the cast, staff and crew on ‘The Young and the Restless,’ led by Jill Farren Phelps and Charles Pratt, Jr., Sony Pictures, Bell Dramatic Serial Company and CBS Daytime. All of our efforts would mean nothing without the most dedicated fans in daytime who have made Genoa City their home, many for years. Congratulations to all involved for this success!”
