IN MEMORIAM

“One Life to Live” alum Kathy Brier (ex-Marcie Walsh McBain) delivered a touching eulogy to Nathaniel Marston (ex-Michael McBain) at his recent sea burial in Kauai, Hawaii. On Friday, December 11, the actress posted her touching words on her Facebook page, at the request of Marston’s mother Elizabeth Jackson.

Brier shared that she and Marston, who died on November 11, 2015, from injuries sustained in a car accident in October, had an instant connection from the moment they met on set. “I felt as though I had always known him somehow, a recollection of our souls. We pretty much spoke in short hand from the very beginning and most times no words needed to be spoken. We would just look at each other and know.”

That connection turned what was supposed to be a three-day appearance on the soap into a contract and “one of the greatest love stories ever written for a soap opera,” wrote Brier. “The real secret to the magic of our story was that as Marcie and Al were falling in love, so were Nathaniel and I,” she wrote.

Brier added that among the things she will remember about Marston are “his amazing smile” and his laughter. “The simple sound of his laugh would make my heart skip a beat,” she noted. “He was strong, fragile, sharp witted, intelligent, funny as hell, sexy as hell, vulnerable, a lost soul, a gentle giant and breathtakingly beautiful but not because of his looks. He could take my breath away with his capacity and understanding of the human struggle and his generosity of spirit.”
