After returning from holiday break in Australia, “The Young and the Restless'” Tristan Rogers (Colin Atkinson) announced that he is sticking around for at least another year on the daytime drama series, which recently celebrated 26 years as the most watched scripted series in the daypart.

“Ok guys and gals I”m back from oz and raring to get back to work on Jan 6. Was great to be home with my mum. Whats in store? Cant say,” tweeted Rogers before adding, “So what can I say? Not a whole lot. However, it seems more compelling than some of the ‘fare’ we’ve had of late. Think you’ll like it.”

Some of the “fare” Rogers appears to be referring is material written by former co-head writers Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante. Material written by Charles “Chuck” Pratt, Jr., who officially took over head writing duties for the daytime drama series in early November, is expected to hit the screen sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Commenting on his decision to stay with “Y&R” for at least another year, Rogers says, “I am at Y&R for another year. Doesn’t mean I won’t do other stuff. But my mind is there and I want to make it prominent in daytime..”

Rogers originated the role of Colin Atkinson in 2010. He appeared on the soap through 2011 before returning to “General Hospital” to reprise his iconic role of Robert Scorpio. He made a brief return to “Y&R” shortly thereafter before once again returning to the series in early 2014 after signing a contract with the soap. The actor portrays one of the leads in LANY Entertainment’s “The Bay: The Series.”
