WGA Nominations: ‘DAYS’ and ‘GH’ Nominated For Daytime Drama

The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) earlier today announced the nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Television, New Media, News, Radio, and Promotional Writing during calendar year 2014. In the category of Daytime Drama, ABC's "General Hospital" and NBC's "Days of our Lives" received a nomination.

The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) earlier today announced the nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Television, New Media, News, Radio, and Promotional Writing during calendar year 2014. In the category of Daytime Drama, ABC’s “General Hospital” and NBC’s “Days of our Lives” received a nomination.

The “DAYS” nomination includes writers Lorraine Broderick, David Cherrill, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Rick Draughon, Christopher Dunn, Janet Iacobuzio, Ryan Quan, Dave Ryan, Melissa Salmons and Christopher Whitesell.GH” is represented by Ron Carlivati, Anna Theresa Cascio, Suzanne Flynn, Kate Hall, Elizabeth Korte, Daniel James O’Connor, Elizabeth Page, Katherine Schock, Scott Sickles and Chris Van Etten.

As previously reported by Soap Opera Network, “DAYS” co-head writer, Gary Tomlin, is not included in the nomination for his work on the soap following his decision to go fi-core (financial core) during the 2007-08 writer’s strike. Tomlin wrote for “One Life to Live” during the strike.

Winners will be honored at the 2015 Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City. The Los Angeles presentation will take place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. New York’s presentation will be held at the Edison Ballroom.
