And now, in a special interview for “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” the actor is delving deep into details regarding his condition and how it’s impacted his life and career.

General Hospital” star Maurice Benard has battled a slew of violent nemeses as his daytime alter ego, Sonny Corinthos, but perhaps his toughest battle of all has been his real-life struggle with bi-polar disorder. And now, in a special interview for “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” the actor is delving deep into details regarding his condition and how it’s impacted his life and career.

The episode, which airs on Sunday, October 5, features Benard discussing his ongoing illness as well as offering advice to those struggling with the mental disorder. The star will be joined by his wife and four children during the interview.

Also featured in the episode are former “The Cosby Show” actress Raven-Symone, who talks openly about her sexuality and being in the public eye for so long, and the young classical singer, Jackie Evancho, who discusses how her life changed overnight after making it to the finale of “America’s Got Talent.”
