Eva Longoria Heading to ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’

She may have helped create one of the most popular and socially engaging television programs on the air today with Lifetime's "Devious Maids," but that doesn't mean fans of former "Desperate Housewives" and "The Young and the Restless" actress and entrepreneur Eva Longoria have seen the last of her in front of the camera. FOX announced earlier this evening that Longoria will guest-star for a three-episode arc on the second season of its Golden Globe award winning comedy series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," which co-stars former "One Life to Live" actress Melissa Fumero (ex-Adriana Cramer) as Detective Amy Santiago.

She may have helped create one of the most popular and socially engaging television programs on the air today with Lifetime’s “Devious Maids,” but that doesn’t mean fans of former “Desperate Housewives” and “The Young and the Restless” actress and entrepreneur Eva Longoria have seen the last of her in front of the camera. FOX announced earlier this evening that Longoria will guest-star for a three-episode arc on the second season of its Golden Globe award winning comedy series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” which co-stars former “One Life to Live” actress Melissa Fumero (ex-Adriana Cramer) as Detective Amy Santiago.

According to the network, Longoria will portray the role of Sophia, a defense attorney who catches Detective Jake Peralta’s (Andy Samberg) attention when she faces off against him in court. As for where things are likely headed, you’ll recall that season one of “Nine-Nine” found Peralta being asked to go undercover for a major FBI investigation. He said his goodbyes to the precinct, and finally confessed his “romantic-styles” affection for Amy, the unit’s honorary straight arrow. Jake crossing paths with Sophia, however, likely means he’s back on the right side of the law.

The network has not revealed when viewers will get their first glimpse of Longoria on the show, but her episodes are expected to air sometime in the fall.
