Co-creator of “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” Ryan Murphy, shared some very exciting news today: “All My Children” alum Finn Wittrock (Damon Miller) is the newest cast member to join the show!

“Thrilled to announce the very talented FINN WITTROCK has joined the cast,” the exec tweeted.

Debuting in October, “Freak Show” — which is set in Florida in the 1950s — stars Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters and new series star Michael Chiklis. Says FX CEO John Landgraf about what viewers can expect from this season: “Some years it’s going to be big and bright and brash and campy the way ‘Coven’ is. Other years it’s going to be dark and brooding—like ‘Asylum’ was. I guess I would put ‘Freak Show’ half-way in between the two. It’s not quite as brooding and formal and Hitchockian as ‘Asylum'; it’s got a little bit more humor and a little bit more camp, but its got a brooding period feel to it also.”

Known in the soap world as the youngster who had an onscreen affair with Pine Valley’s Liza Colby (Jamie Luner), Wittrock has also appeared in “Masters of Sex,” “Criminal Minds” and “Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit.”
