Well done CBS! Looking forward to another great year.

  • let the numbers speak

gosh, these numbers of “the talk” and “let’s make a deal” in the key demos are so bad in comparison to the soaps.

    Women 18-49 rating:

    The Talk: 0.7

    LMAD: 0.7-0.8

this is significantly below the ratings that ATWT and GL draw even in their weakest last years, not to mention where they stood only 1-2 years before cancellation.

and now, we also have the direct comparison with a soap that was no better than atwt some years ago, but things were turned around and look where they’re standing now (again!):

general hospital (same time slot as “the talk”): 1.4 rating in women 18-49 (season average so far).

that is DOUBLE the numbers that these cheap talk and game shows are drawing.

i don’t know who cbs is trying to fool here, but the numbers that they so proudly try to spin into a success are the best evidence that soaps are so much superior in the key sales demos that advertisers aren’t going to pay for these other crappy shows much longer. no matter how cheap they may be to produce.

last summer, some people on this board predicted the continuing big upward trend of the four remaining soaps, and they were absolutely right. if this trend continues, there’s no way that advertisers are going to accept the failed anti-soaps agenda of some netwerk execs any longer that is keeping the ratings in the key demos as low as they can be, while soaps are having their best season average in many years.

      You are a loon.
