In s reporting on the firing of as Adam Newman on “,” in its January 13, 2014 issue, the magazine included a quote from former executive producer and head writer, . In the piece, Bell, who hired Muhney back in 2009, is quoted as saying, “Michael brought amazing dimension and complexity to the role of Adam Newman, and his and Sharon’s [] was a great dark love story. Sadly, that story was seriously derailed in the last year, so I am not surprised that the show would look for a solution to their problematic storytelling decisions. It will be a tough role to recast.”

As previously reported, in an interview with , Muhney revealed that the show may seek to recast the role shortly after his departure. “CBS and Sony want to give Adam a break for 3-6 months and then they’ll bring him back with a different actor. Maybe he does need a break. Adam has been on screen a lot. He’s not being killed off.”

Muhney last airs on Thursday, January 30.

She was a mess when she was there. I’m looking forward to a recast.

This story contains absolutely ZERO news value. What’s the point? There is a story about this that isn’t being told and hopefully someday soon someone will have the guts to tell it.

Honestly without michael the show will be zilch, so killing his character off would be better than recasting it because michael is adam newman and noone I mean no one will ever tske hos place, so you go ahead Jill farren phelps because your time will come.

This show is going down the tubes and losing several key actors in a short period of time isn’t helping, nor is rekindling Nick and Sharon- OH PUKE. Especially in light of what she did with Summer and Phyllis. What is it with Bell and the recycled storylines. This show and B&B. Get new writers instead of letting good actors go.
