Hate the killing of Delia but the acting has been spectacular!

Who do they think they are fooling with their newly invented “18-54″ category? Advertisers are interested in the young crowd, that means that viewers in the fourties are already the less interesting ones and 49 is “end of the line” for them.

CBS just wants to hide the fact that “The Talk” is drawing only about half the ratings in the women 18-49 key demo than General Hospital (see last season average!!) and what As The World Turns was drawing in the same time slot, only shortly before some people at CBS went totally nuts and canceled this unparalleled success story

This kind of press releases are actually proof of the fact that they must be very desperate to somehow sell these bad numbers of “The Talk” to the advertisers, especially when GH’s ratings – that during certain periods were no better than ATWT in the 2008-09 season – and soap ratings in general are so much superior and climbing to levels that these talk and “reality” shows just can’t achieve!!

    • Former CBS viewer

The only CBS shows I’m watching are Y&R and B&B. They could have these numbers (also GH’s numbers) in the key demos all across the board, if they had done with ATWT and GL what was done with GH.

25-54 is not a newly invented category. This category has been measured for years and is the main reason Y&R has remained #1 for so long. 25-54 has the buying power and advertisers are targeting that demo more and more. How about you do a little research before you start hating? And why the GH talk and comparisons? GH is not a CBS show. As for The Talk it is much cheaper to produce than ATWT.
