If they really think the baby drama is the reason for ratings, they’re sadly mistaken. I don’t care what anyone says, Maurice Benard has been giving a rare & amazing performance. He’s been carrying gh & making everyone else look juvenile. He’s been proving why he deserves the airtime, not Franco, Kiki & Michael. And when they gave him that airtime, the ratings went up. We’ve been watching this baby nonsense for months. And I don’t think people were glued to the tv for the births more than anytime in 5 years.

I agree. And Kelly Sullivan’s performance was great. Sad they let the best part of the show go. Bad move in my opinion. The writers could have done a lot with Connie. (Still could if they brought her back.) Sonny’s the best on the show. They can do more powerful things with Sonny too if they think about it. And the baby storylines (both) were awful. I’m glad those are coming to an end.

great news GH… GH is the bomb.

  • Bexx

Yet it’s still the least respected show in all of daytime, one big ball of mediocrity…another Passions.

So you go from “next step is GH getting cancelled” some two weeks ago to “still the least respected”. Considering the facts, still a total loss of reality.

    • Bexxx

I just wanted to say my name is Bexx and I have no life but to try and start fights with people who like GH Even though GH is a horrible show I still watch it every day just so I can get online and have argumetns with people. You all will have to excuse my behavior but I tend to not to take my meds. Ok now back to more instigating…..hmmm maybe I will go to TVBYTHENUMBERS next and start fights over there

MB LW MW NG TC MR BA KS JE TG The initials of the reason this show shines! Kind of hoping to see Maurice & Maura interact! The chemistry should be electric!

  • Splum

MB has nothing to do with it. It’s writing that is more balanced than it’s been in years. Thankfully, Sonny is actually on LESS than years ago, not more.

What is interesting about this article and these numbers is that GH is set to have done its best numbers since 2008. That means the path has begin to the numbers going up. The other soaps cannot say that.

    • SoapFansTogether

Well, your assumption is just plain wrong (see my comment above)!

  • SoapFansTogether

Congrats to GH! These numbers confirm what has been said about ALL soaps:

    – Season average of the top 4 soaps (household total) is the best since 2007-2008

    – Y&R’s season average is the best since 2010-2011

    – B&B’s season average is the best since 2007-2008

    – DAYS’ season average is the best since 2009-2010

    – GH’s season average is the best since 2007-2008

    – ALL soaps are drawing significantly higher ratings in the women 18-49 key demographic (that advertisers actually pay for) than any other daytime genre

    – Replacement shows for ATWT, GL, AMC and OLTL are drawing only about half the numbers of the remaining soaps in the key demographic (and of the ratings the cancelled shows were getting even in their weakest period).

These numbers should be enough for our hyperactive and hysteric “get a life” soap-bashers that have been spamming this board for quite a time to finally “get a life” themselves.

  • Oh my!

A HUGE congrats to you GH!!!

  • mandy

please save GH please I would really appreciate it
