“I didn’t know it was going to gain as much exposure as it did,” the actor says of the controversial love scene (with a laugh that’s not the slightest bit regretful, by the way). “It’s the first time in history [an “AMC” scene] got pulled from YouTube, so that means people believed it, and that’s all that matters to me, because that means we did our job.”

So that hot and heavy scene seems to be no big deal for Wilson. But where would he draw the line? “I think we pushed it pretty close to the edge,” he admits with a sly smile. “I remember when I read the script originally for that scene, I kind of stepped back, and I sent an E-mail to Sonia Blangiardo, one of our producers, about it. She kind of joked around with me about it, but then the day came to shoot it, and you know what? We felt very comfortable. It felt organic, and it came across the way we wanted it to.”

Of course, now that the action happened, there’s the little question of whether or not Pete and Colby will continue to connect. “I wouldn’t say Pete is done with Celia; he’s got a special place in his heart for her,” the actor notes. “But at the same time, Pete is a man! He’s a guy’s guy, and you know what, sometimes you give in to temptation, as we saw… and [something that] intrigues me about this storyline is the fact that we get to play [with the Chandler versus Cortlandt family history], which is so iconic.”

That Chandler versus Cortlandt element will only continue to simmer, especially now that Pete has gotten himself wrapped up with the Chandler’s biggest adversary — Vincent Irizarry’s David Hayward. But Wilson isn’t concerned that the devilish doc is too much to handle. “I totally have all of the faith in the world in Peter. He’s a strong man, he’s got a head on his shoulders, and he’s got brass balls, which is what it takes [to go head-to-head with someone like David],” he says. “Although, it’s going to be a bumpy ride, and I’m sure there are going to be a lot more ups and downs along the way.”
