  • Well Disney is wanting to kill GH.Neilson is older that ^*^^^* so we aren’t getting correct data!

Neilson Ratings are antique…the ratings haven’t kept up to the outdated VCR even. Nevermind all the other ways soaps were being viewed.  ABC hates soaps so of course the ratings of GH are going down. Couric is taking their time slot.

  • I’m sure ABC lost money by cancelling OLTL before GH. It serves them right. It was a very stupid decision.

  • If you take the main romantic couple then put them in the most disturbing story every told then EXPECT low ratings or that you have turned off all your women viewers. You had some Academy Nominated actor play a psycho killing HONEYMOON rapist…that;s going to not become MUST SEE TV. ABC and all the other Daytime Drama Execs need to remember Women viewers got you here and they can turn you off just as easy.

I’m not surprised  Franco tanked a 4th time GH is a show that keeps  doing what has been proven not to work but they make no changes just keeping doing the same thing & they wonder why the audience is fleeing.   Oh wait ….Franco story tanked November sweeps but guess what will be head lining February sweeps?  Yep  Franco … LoL  It seems they are doing their best to kill the show.

  • Lets be fair we were all duped and bashing GH isnt what we are all here to do, we are here too save the genre. ABC shot themselves in the foot when they announced the new line up for those time slots. Face it ABC Oprahs gone AMC gone OLTL gone and omg Gh was my weakest program Eat It ABC A BIG OLE PILE OF COLD [email protected] SERVED ON A SILVER PLATTER.

  • I cant imagine why anyone would watch the crap they are showing now on ABC in place of the good shows..  I would have left them all where they were, added Dr. Oz to replace Oprah and maybe even have let the chew take Oz’s spot in the am…. and everything would have been great.  Dont see The Chew making such leaps of ratings over OLTL anyway…  Frons is now leaving ABC Daytime the end of January, after destroying everything…. I hope they feel the economic destruction equivalent to unnecessary destruction they have brought upon the stars and the viewers of our shows.  I wont ever watch any ABC Daytime after they kill GH, which it appears they are making every effort to do.

    • I agree with you Nina. If they would have scheduled these new shows at different time slots and left our soaps alone no one would be up in arms.  I do think that Ellen is a good replacement for Oprah’s time slot.  They should have put those new programs in some of the AM time slots nobody would have even have noticed because they are all the same.  I also feel a little betrayed by Oprah.  She left free tv to go to cable where you have to pay to see and most of her viewers who made her where she is today can’t afford more than the basic package which doesn’t include OWN.  Don’t get me wrong I love Oprah but just feeling a little abandoned by abc.  I have been a loyal viewer of the abc soaps for over 43 yrs.  I am planning to boycott abc except for GH.  I won’t be watching the very few programs that I do watch in protest (Gray’s Anatomy, The Practice, and Desperate Housewives which they are getting rid of anyway).

  • I don’t believe that these ratings are very accurate.  Are they counting the people that watch them online or on soapnet?? How can they tell the age group or sex of the viewers???

  • what a boring day off. nothing to watch on TV. i miss you “one life to live”
