again, why was OLTL and not GH the last soap standing at ABC?

GH and not OLTL? Because ABC has no concept of what people want to watch.

How can that question even be asked, when OLTL and GH are only separated by 200,000 viewers week after week?  We aren’t talking millions here.  I love GH and respect OLTL, but it’s foolish talk that people keep bringing up the, “Why OLTL and not GH?” comment.  I’m sure ABC looked at a lot of other factors when deciding which soaps were getting the can and which one was staying.  OLTL has had a good year, that is a fact, but I also remember the many years GH dominated ABC Daytime.  Think about it this way, GH is just getting 6 more months of  air time, since we all know it will be cancelled come fall. :(

OLTL is still kicking butt! And those numbers are going to only get better before the ending on ABC!

I just hate what ABC has done, they have not respected or considered any of our posts to them.  I am just sick with this new line up.  The Chew is horrible, I have watched.  I am not going to watch anything on ABC.  They just cancel everything.  At least NBC and CBS have great respect for viewers and they take us into consideration.  I am loving the Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives.  Good bye to ABC.
I will sincerely miss everyone at OLTL.  Greatest Soap ever!

People, it really doesn’t matter whichj soap gets the ax now because within 5 to 10 years there will not be a daytime soap on tv to argue about. face it, the soaps are just too ecconmically unweildy to keep their place on the schedules.add the fact that many viewers either use vcrs or tivos to watch the shows later and if they happen to be a neilson family member their viewing is not counted in the ratings. there are many more factors that go into it too. so get ready for an extremelysad, yet inevitable day when you do not see a single soiap on tv, save of corse the reemergance of a night time soap. but dont even hold your breath for that.
also get ready for the time when all you see on day/night time tv is reality shows, talk shows, cooking shows, news shows/magazines and few, IF ANYscripted shows. when that happens tv would have become the “vast waistland” it was onece descibed as. at that time many tears will be shrd fot “the good old days” and grandparentd will be able to tell grand children of a time not so long age when tv actuallu had something watch.
will it ever get THAT bad, we can only hope not…but…
