(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — "The Young and the Restless" Episode Recap – Tuesday, July 5, 2011.

        IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Ripping up the letter she had written, Sharon decided that she should just leave the farm for good. While walking out of the room, Sam woke up and moments later, was at the barn. He watched her pack and questioned where she was going. Sharon disappointed him when she told him that their having sex was a big mistake. He had promised to take things slow, just as long as she didn't leave. Sharon told Sam that people that became close to her only got hurt because of her and she couldn't let that happen with him.

Noah was going through some of the memory cards when Abby approached him. She questioned what he was up to and he said he wanted to do what he could to clear his mother's name but questioned if it would be for nothing. Noah declined Abby's offer to help and he turned the conversation to that of her leaving rehab: had she seen her parents. She admitted she was dodging them but he pointed out they would find out sooner or later. The two started to listen to one of his songs on his iPod and she liked what heard. She mused if Eden was the insipration. She soon revealed that while in rehab, she saw Eden there. Noah questioned if the two talked.

At Newman Enterprises, Victor welcomed both Victoria and Lauren to the board. Lauren voiced concern about her being there since she was the recent face of Jabot but Victor shooed them all away, telling her he wanted her there. Adam sauntered into the room and he and Victor stared icily at each other. When Michael brought the meeting to order, both Victoria and Adam agreed to nominate Victor as chairman of the board. It was the only agreement, however, between father and son. Victor proposed a deal with a Chinese petroleum company but Adam quickly shot it down getting some of the board on his side to look for a less risky option. Victor was displeased and during a recess in the meeting, he asked Michael about their case against Adam, but Michael said they didn't have a strong enough case.

Billy headed to Restless Style to give Nick the keys. The discussed payment arrangements when Phyllis walked in. Billy was furious to learn that Nick hired Phyllis back, despite what she did to his sister. Nick snapped that what he did with Restless Style and who he hires was no business of his anymore. After Billy left, Phyllis took her normal pleasure in badmouthing Billy but Nick stuck up for him that Billy was having a tough time since having Lucy taken from him and Victoria. Phyllis offered to leave if working together was going to be difficult.

After the meeting had ended Lauren and Michael headed out, leaving Victoria, Victor and Adam there. Victoria and Adam had a few snarky words, where she learned on Billy selling Restless Style back to Nick. She headed out to go talk to Billy, leaving Adamd Victor alone. Adam told Victor that he was losing his touch, but Victor said he was messing with the wrong man and it would cost him.

Eden found herself at Crimson Lights and was disappointed that Kevin wasn't there. As she looked around, she spotted Noah and Abby talking to one another. As she was staring at them, Lauren arrived and was shocked to see her. Lauren said that Michael and Kevin would be surprised to see her. She stepped out to retrieve her cell phone. While she was gone, Eden stepped out onto the patio and picked up Noah's earbuds and listened to his song, unaware that he stepped back inside to get his things. The two came face-to-face and soon were met by Abby, who was surprised Eden came to Genoa City after all.

Victoria headed over to Restless Style and ripped into Nick for taking the only company Billy cared about away from him, let alone hiring Phyllis back. Nick said that Billy was well aware of what he was doing when he sold the company back to him. He soon pointed out that Victoria disappointed him by going back to Newman Enterprises even after all that Victor had done to the two of them. When she left, Phyllis pointed out that Victoria would be a great person to use to get the dirt on Adam; Nick agreed.

A frustrated Billy continued to go down the drunken path by having a drink. He slowly removed his ring and tossed it into his glass of scotch. Picking up the phone he called his bookie to make another horse bet, but was interrupted by a visit from someone there to collect on his lost bets. The man refused to take a check, wanting cash instead. As they were talking, Victoria arrived. Quickly getting rid of the guy, he slipped him his watch. Victoria rrequested that they talk to one another after he was showered and clean. When he came back out, clean, she wanted to know why he sold his company, telling him that was the one thing he loved. Billy shot back that she no longer need to worry about what he does. She agreed but let him know that he has an impending custody case to keep Delia and in order to keep custody of her, he needed employment.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — "The Young and the Restless" Episode Recap – Monday, July 4, 2011.

          IT HAPPENED TODAY…

After a night of sex with Sam, Sharon woke up in his bed and started to recall the things in her past. She sat down at his table and started to write a letter about who she was. Sharon started off first by sharing the beginnings of her romance with Nick when they were in highschool but how her wanting to end things with her current boyfriend, Matt, turned ugly when he raped her.

She continued on with how Nick was always there to protect her, but was later crushed when he learned that she had a baby by someone else. The two hit a rough patch but soon came back to one another when Nick proposed. She soon recalled when she had to break the news to Nick about her rape by Matt, which in the end placed him behind bars when he was falsely accused of the man's murder..

Back in Genoa City, Nick was staring at an issue of Restless Style focused on Sharon's damsel in distress and her continued bond with Adam. He too started to have flashbacks of their time together and stared into a photo album of the two of them. His eyes came across a picture of Sharon and Cassie. After discovering his daughter's pendant, a saddened Nick starred at the magazine again, throwing it across the room. Noah, who came up to the office to visit his father, saw what happened and hugged him, admitting that he missed his mother too.

In Sam's room, Sharon continued to write down everything about her pass; recalling when Nick and Sharon got married, despite the strong reservations that Nikki had about their beign together. She soon shared of when Cassie, the daughter she gave up for adoption, finally became apart of ther family, and then the birth of Noah. She shared how happy they all were, until tragedy struck and Cassie had died due to a car accident, slowly ripping her and Nick from one another.

As Sharon wrote about Nick's constant pull from her, she recalled in a flashback of his affair with Phyllis and how she forced him into a confession by donning the same teddy she wore when they'd meet in a hotel suit. She soon wrote how he moved on with Phyllis and she with Jack, but soon found herself drawn to someone new: Nick's brother Adam. She shared how the two just clicked and bonded; him being the one person that could accept her for who she was, and he for who he was. She soon recalled the day he told her of his involvement in Ashley losing her baby and how he stole her baby to give to pass off as Ashley. Despite it all, she still fell in love with him.

Sharon's flashback soon took her to how those who didn't like Adam worked to destroy their relationship, causing Adam to be framed for the murder of Skye and soon, her arrest when Skye actually died in Hawaii when falling into the volcano. She commented that while they had succeeded in pulling them apart, Adam was the one that stood by her and didn't give up on her, ready to prove her innocent, even helping her to escape, which eventually led her to him.

Meanwhile, at the Athletic Club, Adam continued to look through the memory cards that Phyllis had retrieved. While looking at one, he saw footage of Sharon in his hotel suite seducing him playfully. He bemoaned how nothing was the same without her in his life and then picked up her engagement ring, tears rolling down his eyes.

Hartley and Vilasuso Update Their 'All My Children' Status

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Weeks after the cancellation of “All My Children” was announced, so to was the rehiring of Cady McClain, as the not so deceased love of Tad Martin’s (Michael E. Knight) life, Dixie Cooney, and Thorsten Kaye, as the also apparently not so deceased love of Kendall Hart’s (Alicia Minshew) life, Zach Slater. Fans of the Castillo siblings, Dr. Griffin Castillo and Dr. Cara Castillo, and their budding romances were left with a lot more to worry about then a trail of broken hearts when on the heels of the return announcements, Soap Opera Digest reported that their would indeed be cast cuts at the show to make room for all the returns and to focus on core characters. Speculation grew that “AMC” newcomers Jordi Vilasuso and Lindsay Hartley, the actors who portray Griffin and Cara, were in line to be some of the early casualties do to the circumstances. The actors as well as a spokesperson for the 41-year-old show have recently responded to fans concerns.

In recent weeks, both Hartley and Vilasuso have taken to their official Twitter feeds to announce whether they’re staying or going. Early last month, Vilasuso assured his fans he would “be on to the end.” Just this past week, Hartley reported the same fate for Cara and whetted fans appetites adding that her character will have an “extremely unpredictable ending.” The actress potentially knows at this point as the writers of the show outlined the final week of “All My Children” last week. (Follow this link where we find Head Writer Lorraine Broderick’s right-hand and Associate Head Writer Addie Walsh spoofing – we repeat spoofing – the details of Pine Valley’s last week of storyline.) Soap Opera Network reached out to an “AMC” spokesperson for an official response on Hartley and Vilasuso’s future with the show. While not an absolute confirmation, the spokesperson did respond that the status updates are accurate as far as [they] know.

Daytime Emmy Award winner Vilasuso debuted on “AMC” on November 16, 2010. Hartley debuted a month earlier on October 15. 30-year-old Vilasuso started his career on CBS’ “Guiding Light” in 2000 as mobster Tony Santos. He exited the role in 2003. 33-year-old Hartley made her daytime debut on NBC’s “Passions;” she starred on the soap as Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald from its first episode on July 5, 1999 to its last episode on September 7, 2008. Before joining “AMC,” Hartley landed a contract role on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” but was let go early.

With the writing process nearing it’s final stages and just a bit over a month of taping left when the actors return from their long vacation at the end of the month, no early exits have been announced except for that of Eddie Matos. Matos’ exit was not at all unexpected as he joined the cast in 2010 on a recurring capacity as a murderer. In the not entirely unexpected category, look for at least two more non-contract characters to make their exit later this month as a major storyline comes to a close.
