Debbi Morgan Not Sticking Around for 'All My Children.net'

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Just days following Soaps In Depth reporting that Debbi Morgan was close to signing a deal to join “The Young and the Restless,” today a CBS spokesperson confirmed to TV Guide’s Michael Logan that a deal was indeed signed between Morgan and “Y&R” on Thursday. Morgan will begin taping at the number one soap in America once taping at “All My Children” concludes for the time being at the end of August. As reported on Thursday, due to a last minute licensing agreement, “AMC” and “One Life to Live” are due to go on in the internet format. Despite the deal to revive the two soaps, multiple sources confirm that all of the actors from “AMC” are free agents come September 1, which explains why Morgan already filled her calender. This of course means the internet version of the 41-year-old daytime drama could end up looking very different from the ABC version when all the pieces come together.

Daytime Emmy Award Winner Morgan started her daytime career on “AMC” in 1982 as Dr. Angela Hubbard. She remained on the show until 1990. She returned to the role for her current run in January 2008. In between her “AMC” stints she also spent 1993 thru 1998 on the ABC Daytime drama’s “Loving,” “The City” and “Port Charles.” She played Dr. Hubbard on both “Loving” and The City.” Alongside Daytime Emmy Award Winner Darnell Williams, Morgan created daytime’s first African American super-couple in the form of Jesse and Angie Hubbard. Morgan’s daytime career has also extended outside of ABC Daytime. From 1990 to 1991, Morgan moved on to NBC’s “Generations” and then to CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” from October 2006 to June 2007. The two-time Image Award Winner has also had a successful career outside of daytime. She has appeared on numerous prime-time series and films.

ABC Soaps In Depth reports Morgan is slated to work in story alongside long-time “Y&R” star Kristoff St. John (Neil) and Julia Pace Mitchell (Sofia) once she settles in Genoa City.
