(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — On Friday, June 17, the Daytime community celebrated the work of many of the men and women who work generally behind the scenes at various programming on daytime television. The 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards Gala was held at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles and was hosted by Steve Wilkos of “The Steve Wilkos Show.”

ABC’s “General Hospital” won 6 of the 13 nominations they earned at the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Creative Art Emmy Awards. With 6 wins, the last ABC soap standing effectively took home half the available awards for the Drama Series categories that evening. CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” followed going 3 for 11. CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” and ABC’s “All My Children” wrapped up the wins going, respectively, 2 for 8 and 1 for 7. ABC’s “One Life to Live,” nominated for 9 Creative Art Emmy Awards, and NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,” nominated for 2 Creative Art Emmy Awards, went home empty handed. CBS “As The World Turns” was not nominated for any Creative Art Emmy Awards. ABC Daytime also won the category of New Approaches Daytime for the “What If” internet promotion that crossed-over their three Daytime Drama Series.

Actors, Writing Teams, Directing Teams and Complete Ensembles will be rewarded at the The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards which airs on CBS on Sunday, June 19 from 8:00 – 10:00 PM ET/PT (live on the east coast, recorded for the west coast). The annual awards show returns to the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada for the second consecutive year.
