    B&B Recap: Friday, March 11, 2011

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — "The Bold and the Beautiful" Episode Recap – Friday, March 11, 2011.

    IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Brooke asked for Ridge's forgiveness. She promised that she'd never keep a secret from him again, no matter how small or insignificant she may think it is. Ridge is still upset that she didn't tell him right away. Brooke tells him that she just didn't want to jeopardize his and Thomas's relationship. Ridge says that he's not angry with her, just disappointed and concerned. Brooke apologizes again and gives him a light kiss before leaving his office.

Stephanie wonders how the kiss happened and why Brooke would do such a thing. Taylor told her that Thomas was the one who pursued the kiss and that Brooke was asleep while it happened. She created an oral picture of Brooke as the seductive femme fatale ("sprawled out in her lounging pajamas looking all vulnerable") who thought of the kiss as no big deal. Stephanie accused Taylor of hoping this all leads to Ridge leaving Brooke for her. Taylor was quick to say that she's happy with her husband Whip and then she hastily changed the subject back to Brooke keeping the kiss a secret. Taylor says that Brooke is way to sexual and that's why Thomas couldn't resist kissing her. She then accused Brooke of loving having all the Forrester men lust after her. "She's got all three Forrest men — all the generations — lusting after her, and that's what she wants. She wants to be with the Grandson now, and she's going to succeed if she isn't stopped."

Dayzee runs into Thomas at Forrester Creations where she went to visit Pam. Pam reveals that Dayzee is there for photos to put into a care package that she's making for Marcus, whose in Paris. Thomas sees a sexy photo of Dayzee and asks if there's a wallet sized version that he could have for himself. Later, Dayzee compliments some photos she comes across from the earlier Taboo photo shoot. Thomas told Dayzee about the latest drama going on with his family. Dayzee asks if it will affect his line, Thomas is afraid that it will but is hopeful that Brooke could get through to Ridge.

Thomas visited his father and asked if they could talk. Ridge asked how the kiss happened. Thomas said that he was sorry and that it was harmless. He assured Ridge that the kiss was all him and that he convinced Brooke not to say anything. Ridge told Thomas that he disrespected him and his marriage. "Like father, like son" Thomas snapped back. He reminded Ridge of how he stole Brooke from Eric. Ridge said that that situation was complicated and that he didn't steal Brooke from anyone. He then asked Thomas if he was in love with Brooke. "I love Brooke. After everything she's done for me over the years. but no I'm not in love with her.". Ridge told him he just couldn't understand what possessed him to kiss his wife then. Thomas told him that it was just in innocent impulse. Ridge told him that it was inappropriate. Thomas disagreed. Ridge accused Thomas of fighting real feelings for his wife. Thomas told Ridge to get over it already. Ridge was annoyed with how disrespectful Thomas was being and then decided to cancel the Taboo line.

Brooke joined Taylor and Stephanie. Stephanie asked if what she heard was true and Brooke confirmed it. Stephanie tells Brooke that she is very disappointed and Brooke agrees and tells her she regrets not telling Ridge right away, but Thomas convinced her not to. Taylor jumped into the conversation and confused Brooke of trying to "corrupt" Thomas. Brooke said that she'd like to talk to Stephanie alone. Taylor accused her of trying to weasel back into Stephanie's good graces, and then advised Stephanie not to believe a word she says. Brooke asked Stephanie to not forget the bond they've created recently after all these years. Taylor interrupted. "After all these years of sleeping through her family, her husband, her sons, and now you're doing everything you can to hop in bed with her Grandson?!". Brooke begged Stephanie to forgive her and reminded her of all they've been threw these past few months with her cancer and helping out the homeless. Stephanie was annoyed with her and didn't want to hear any of it. Brooke promised that it would never happen again and she'd never betray Ridge. Stephanie began to cry and went into a rage, demanding Brooke to get out. Brooke's eyes began to tear up.

        B&B Recap: Thursday, March 10, 2011

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — "The Bold and the Beautiful" Episode Recap – Thursday, March 10, 2011.

        IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Thomas suggests he and Brooke go to Ridge and explain the kiss. Brooke is quick to say that it's probably already to late. "She's probably telling him as we speak, and blowing it out of proportion in the process.". Thomas says he hopes Taylor is blowing things out of proportion and going in one of her usual tirades. "My dad won't be able to take her seriously, just let her rant all she wants.". Thomas thinks they should go to Ridge and explain things to him more calmly and rationally when Taylor is finished. Brooke is worried that this will tarnish his and Ridges relationship. Thomas is confident that his father will understand.

Meanwhile, Ridge is in disbelief after Taylor tells him about the kiss. He wonders if maybe she misunderstood what was said. Taylor kept trying to explain that this wasn't a lie but Ridge wouldn't listen. "Taylor, I trust my wife. I have complete faith in her. She would never allow something like that to happen.". Taylor tells him once again that it's unfortunately true. Ridge asks how it happened. She explains that she thinks Brooke was sleep on the plane, most likely in one of her night lingerie clothes, and Thomas got overwhelmed and kissed her. Ridge begins to budge and Taylor tells him that she really thinks he should pull the plug on the Taboo line.

Thomas visits Steffy. He gets annoyed with her when she makes a joke about Dayzee. Steffy quickly notices that he's upset about something else and asks him whats wrong. Thomas tells Steffy that he kissed Brooke. Steffy is shocked. "Are you kidding me?!'. Thomas tells her that their mother knows and is freaking out about it. Steffy starts to freaks out as well and begins to blame everything on Brooke. She thinks Brooke has Thomas under a spell and is making him do these things. He assures her that's not the case. Thomas tells Steffy that he wishes she would just show him some support for once.

Taylor arrives at Stephanie's office and immediately tells her about the kiss. Stephanie doesn't believe it. Taylor says she knows what she heard and that Thomas even admitted it to her. She says the Taboo line is the main reason why all this has happened and that she thinks Ridge should get rid of it. Stephanie says there's no way Ridge would cancel the line considering how much money it's making. Taylor continues to have faith that he will. She then tries to get Stephanie to remember what kind of person Brooke is. "You need to stop and remember what it felt like when she got your husband to cheat on you with her. And then she just ditched him and left your family in shambles. Then she went after both your sons, I'm telling you she is going to go after your Grandson next, you've got to listen to me!". Stephanie takes those words to heart but still thinks there's more to this. She wonders if maybe this was a result of something Thomas had done. Taylor rebuffed by saying "Well, it's always so easy to blame the man, isn't it? It's always their fault that they find Brooke just so beautifully seductive.". Taylor then brings up something Stephanie told her before about how Brooke is always in control and knows exactly what she's doing, leaving men feeling like they've lost control and just let it happen.

Brooke goes to Ridges office and realizes that Taylor had gotten to him first. Ridge tells her that he knows about the kiss. He's mainly upset with the fact that she kept it a secret from him. She agrees but says that this wasn't important, not nearly as bas as how it seems. "My son kisses you and that's nothing?". Ridge is upset and says that it was a big mistake that she kept this from him. He regrets thinking that things had finally changed this time; that Brooke had finally learned from all her previous "Scandals". Brooke argued that Taylor was the one who glamorized the idea of her and Thomas and put it out there and made her out to be "forbidden fruit". But ultimately, Brooke sincerely apologized and asked for Ridge's forgiveness.

Thom Bierdz: The Writer, The Artist and the Missing Chancellor

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — After a 20 year absence, actor Thom Bierdz (Phillip Chancellor III) returned to CBS' "The Young and the Restless" in 2009 with the revelation that his character was gay – one of the few out characters currently portrayed on American soaps. As the only openly gay actor appearing in a soap opera, Bierdz took time out of his busy day on Wednesday, February 16, to speak with Soap Opera Network about his most recent return to daytime's top soap, his passion for art and his Amazon bestseller "Forgiving Troy," which delves into the mind, the life and the heart of a man dealing with trauma through the power of the written word.

Your name is very unique, and sometimes can be pronounced incorrectly by individuals. Is it pronounced like Tom Beards? Did I say that right?

You did! Beards, like facial hair. I kind of wish I would have spelled it like that when I moved out here [Los Angeles, CA] because it's such a hard name to spell. Plus, with the name T-H-O-M, I think it's hard for people to find me online and stuff. In retrospect, I would have spelled my name much more simple.

You came back to "The Young and the Restless" after a LONG absence [20 years] in 2009. Now, the character you portray was reportedly dead and then he came back to life, but he was in hiding because he didn't want his family to realize he was alive because he had secrets he was hiding [Exhausted]? Tell us more about that.

That is right. My character died in 1989, and in 2009 the writers and producers brought me back with the storyline that I faked my death for twenty years because I was gay and couldn't tell anybody about it. So it was really cool. By that time I was an out gay actor, so for me to return to such an integral job 20 years later was a real gift, especially to do it was the authenticity of who I really am. I'm really happy to be a part of "Y&R," especially to be the gay part of "Y&R."

Whose decision was it to bring the character back as a gay character? Was it a combination of you discussing returning to the show and they decided to do it then? At what point did they decide to make the character gay?

I had several meetings with Maria Arena Bell [Head Writer/Executive Producer of "Y&R"] and Josh O'Connell [Associate Producer] and they wanted to revise Phillip, as did I. It was really cool.

So between the conversations you had about returning, it was also decided you would bring the character back as an out character? One of the few we have in daytime…

I had no interest in coming back and doing the same thing I did, even though it is a great job. I had already done that. To be able to do something different was very exciting for me as a man. On a bigger level as an actor. As a man it meant a lot to me to do something different.

So what have you been up to since your time on "Y&R" in the '80s up until your return and even now?

You know, I'm so into painting and I've been into painting my whole life. I never thought it would be my main career and it is. What I've been doing for the past several years has been doing commissions of pets and families. A lot of soap opera fans contact me through Facebook or online asking me to paint people or pets that are important to them. I love doing that. Apparently, I'm quite good at that.

There is an upcoming film called "Stick Figures," and apparently your art work will be displayed in the film. Explain how that works to us.

I don't know any more details than that. I really respect the actor/writer/producer [Matthew Montgomery]. The protagonist is an artist and they'll use my art for that.

Between "Y&R" and your painting, is there anything that has caught your attention? Are you interested in doing any Broadway plays or any theatre work?

I'm not interested in doing theatre at this point, but I'm very interested in night time and primetime series. I've had my first audition in 10 years for one last week. I'm more excited to do that now that I'm acting again.

Can you say which show you auditioned for?

It was for a new pilot coming out directed and produced by Michael Patrick King [NBC's in development "Mann's World"], who did "Sex and the City," and I'm not in it as far as I know [Laughs].

So Phillip, he's back on the show. His son, Phillip, I guess you want to say Jr., but they call him Chance, supposedly died a couple of months ago in a similar way that Phillip died, in the sense that he faked his death. Now the character is back again and giving his kidney to his half brother. What's going on there?

Genoa City can have some extreme dramatic moments. They knew that Chance wasn't really going to die when they wrote that he was dead. He went into the witness relocation program and now he's back. That's great, not only for me because I get to act with John Driscoll [who portrays Chance], but Tricia Cast [Nina] is just phenomenal. She's had so many emotional scenes this past year with both of her sons. She's just great.

How long is your character back in town for?

That's a good question. I believe they are going to use me more this year than they have in the subsequent years, but I have been back every couple of months since 2009. I'll probably be back more regularly this year.

If you weren't on "Y&R," could you see yourself on any other daytime show?

Yes, sure. I like the idea very much of me being able to paint for a living and act. I have time for both of those. I really like that.

Is there any other character in daytime that you could say you wish you were playing?

Who I think is so great is Sean [Kanan], who plays Deacon, he's just so good at what he's doing. I do several accents. I would love to do a dual role with one of my accents and play a heterosexual as well. As for me wanting to do somebody else's character, there is nobody I can think of right now.

You've been acting for a long time now. What can you say about your roles in such shows as "Murder, She Wrote" and "Melrose Place" or TV movies? How are they different from who you are currently playing on "Y&R?"

"Y&R," because it is ongoing, I can be more of myself there than I could be in "Murder, She Wrote" and "Matlock" and these other movies and TV that I've done. That's really fun that I can bring my organic self to this.

In 2009, you released your book "Forgiving Troy." The story is about your search for understanding the circumstances behind the tragic death of your mother. What can you share about your personal experiences during such tragedy and how you've been able to cope?

It is a story that I really felt that I had to share. It's extreme hardship and is inspirational as well. It is my family story. I get a lot of people taking it into their hearts. I found so many more people relate to this story than I thought. I thought people would see it from an entertainment perspective. I had no idea that so many people would relate to the characters.

When I read about your life history, it was very shocking to hear all of the things that have gone on in your life and how you've been able to progress to where you are today, knowing that all of that has happened in the past. Like you said, it is an inspirational story. I have a family member of mine who has a mental illness [bilpolar], and it just puts things more into perspective about the importance of family, love and life.

It is extreme and my brother is schizophrenic, paranoid schizophrenic, and so many more people than you think are in relation to that or have been. It is great for me to be able to share openly about it as does my incarcerated brother…he's very open about it. He's seeking to be the best that he can at this point and I'm helping him along and he's helping me along. We're brothers loving each other, despite him killing mom years ago and his illness and him being in prison. We're still brothers, we're still there for each other because that is what my mom would want. Plus, he's my brother. I'll be there for him forever. He is a very special guy to me. He is my baby brother. I know he is haunted. I can understand. I can empathize at some points. He calls me from prison a couple of times a week. I see him once a year, and he is watching "The Young and the Restless."

            B&B Recap: Wednesday, March 9, 2011

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — "The Bold and the Beautiful" Episode Recap – Wednesday, March 9, 2011.

            IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Taylor thinks back to the previous night when she overheard Brooke mention her kiss with Thomas.

Simultaneously, Oliver photographed a shoot involving Brooke and Thomas for the Taboo line. Thomas suggested that Brooke take her vest off to show off more skin. Ridge approved of the change. During a break, Thomas suggested that he and Brooke take another trip overseas (this time in Milan) to promote the Taboo line. Ridge agreed and noted that things went smoothly the last time and that he had faith it would be the same this time as well. "You and Brooke were a huge hit in Paris. Nothing bad happened, despite your mothers concerns. I have total faith in both of you." Brooke nodded in hesitant agreement.

After the photo shoot concluded, Oliver let Brooke know that he'd show her the proofs after he finished his next shoot for the Hope For The Future line. When Thomas and Ridge left, Brooke told Oliver about Hope and Liam's break up. Brooke told Oliver this could be his chance to be with Hope again, but she warned him not to pressure her, just be there for her. Hope entered the room and wondered what they were talking about. Brooke left and Oliver showed Hope the latest pictures he'd shot of her and complimented her on how great of a model she is. Hope asked if he knew about her break up with Liam and he told her he did. Oliver apologized and assured her that everything would be ok. After that, Oliver whipped out some old photo booth pictures from their first date at an arcade. Hope was flattered that he had kept them after all this time. Oliver then attempted to replicate the night they had by doing another fun photo booth session. Oliver apologized to Hope again and then kissed her on the cheek.

Thomas arrived at his office to find Taylor sitting in there. She told him that she overheard him and Brooke talking last night. "I know about the kiss between you and Brooke on the plane.". Thomas tried to assure Taylor that it wasn't what she thinks. Taylor refused to believe it and blamed everything on Brooke. "Brooke has worked her way through every single man in the Forrester family, alright? It wasn't just a question of if, it was a question of when you would be next." Thomas tried multiple times to convince her that he was all to blame, but Taylor continued her tirade through all of it. Thomas let Taylor know that he was the one who kissed her, not the other way around. "She didn't stop you though, did she?" Taylor said snarkily. "How could she? She was sleeping." said Thomas. Thomas admitted that he couldn't help it. Taylor said she knew he wouldn't be able to resist Brooke's pull on the Forrester men, mentioning how his Father, Grandfather, and Uncle Thorne couldn't in the past either. Thomas told Taylor that he didn't tell Ridge about the kiss because he didn't feel there was a need to. He told her Brooke had every intention of going to Ridge and telling him but he convinced her not to. He pleaded with Taylor that she should do the same.

Ridge and Brooke discussed Thomas. They talked about him and Dayzee and how great they could be for each other. Ridge notes how much of a ladies' man Thomas has become. "Madison, Summer, now Dayzee? Doesn't exactly give him a lot of time to make the moves on his old mans wife, now does it? Not that he would. Not that you wouldn't tell me if he did." Ridge then hugged Brooke, who looked completely guilty. Later on, Brooke visited Thomas at Forrester Creations and talked about how excited Ridge is about the trip to Milan as they are. Brooke made a joke about leaving Forrester Creations and Thomas got frightened. Thomas then told Brooke that Taylor knows about their kiss. Brooke was afraid that Taylor would tell Ridge about the kiss, but had faith that Ridge would understand.

Taylor arrived at Ridge's office and went into another tirade about Brooke. By rants end, she told Ridge about the kiss. "Brooke and Thomas were kissing, ok?! They kissed on the way back home when they were flying on the plane from Paris!"
