(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Deadline.com is reporting that former "All My Children" and "Summerland" actor/musician Jesse McCartney has been tapped to topline potential series "Locke & Key," which was just given a pilot order by FOX for contention on the networks 2011-2012 primetime schedule.
"Locke & Key" is based on the Joe Hill comic book of the same name and tells the story of Nina Locke (Miranda Otto) and her three children, Ty (McCartney), Kinsey (Sarah Bolger) and Bode (Skylar Gaertner), who return to Massachusetts after the brutal murder of patriarch Rendall Locke. As Ty, McCartney will be able to utilize his singing abilities as the character finds solace in his music while grieving the loss of his father who he was closest to.
McCartney can currently be heard in the Cartoon Network animated series "Young Justice" as the voice of Robin. He also voices the role of Roxas in the "Kingdom Hearts" series of games for Disney. More recently he appeared in the ABC Family series "Greek." He starred on "All My Children" from 1998-1999 in the role of J.R. Chandler and from 2004-2005 in The WB's "Summerland" as Bradin Westerly.
