(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — ABC and CBS serials compete for top honors at the 42nd Annual NAACP Image Awards.

The NAACP Image Awards were established in 1967 to recognize the outstanding achievements of specifically African-American’s in all aspects of the entertainment industry from literature to recordings to film. The NAACP will officially reward these talented actors, writers, musicians and directors for the 42nd time on March 4, 2011 in a live ceremony to be aired on FOX at 8PM ET.

The Daytime Drama Series Nominees for Outstanding Achievement in Acting Performances at the 42nd Annual NAACP Image Awards are as follows:

OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A DAYTIME DRAMA SERIES

  • Aaron D. Spears – Justin Barber on “The Bold and The Beautiful” (CBS)
  • Cornelius Smith, Jr. – Frankie Hubbard on “All My Children” (ABC)
  • Darnell Williams – Jesse Hubbard on “All My Children” (ABC)
  • Rodney Saulsberry – Anthony on “The Bold and the Beautiful” (CBS)

 

OUTSTANDING ACTRESS IN A DAYTIME DRAMA SERIES

  • Debbi Morgan – Angela Hubbard on “All My Children” (ABC)
  • Julia Pace Mitchell – Sofia Dupre on “The Young and the Restless” (CBS)
  • Tatyana Ali – Roxanne on “The Young and the Restless” (CBS)
  • Tonya Lee Williams – Olivia Winters on “The Young and The Restless” (CBS)
  • Yvette Freeman – Dr. Lewis on “The Bold and the Beautiful” (CBS)

Last year, “All My Children’s” Debbi Morgan and Cornelius Smith, Jr. walked away with top honors in the daytime category. Who will win this year?
