(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — As we first reported on Thursday, September 23, sources were confirming that Sebastian Roche was returning to ABC's "General Hospital" in the coming months, now ABC has confirmed that Roche is indeed returning to the drama series this fall in the role of Jerry Jacks, who was last seen in 2009. The network, however, did not confirm reports that Jerry Jacks would be the mystery character simply known as the Balkan who is after Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo).

"There's been a lot of speculation out there," says Head Writer Robert Guza, Jr. in an interview with Soap Opera Digest. "I've seen Jerry Jacks, Suzanne, Robert Scorpio, Sean Donely, which surprised me, and Faison. They're all very good contenders I will say that it's going to look very much like somebody who much of the audience thinks it is."

If in fact Jerry turns out to be The Balkan, this twist would follow in line with Roche's debut on the soap back in 2007 when he portrayed terrorist James Craig, only to be revealed to be a recast Jerry Jacks two months later. Jerry was last seen in 2009 after he faked his death in order to find Michael Corinthos III (then played by actor Drew Garrett), who Claudia (Sarah Brown) learned was the cause of her miscarriage.

Roche's first airdate is set for Monday, December 13.

In addition to his upcoming return to "GH," Roche is set to appear on The CW's "Supernatural" in the role of Balthazar, an angel, according to showrunner Sera Gamble. "He provides a unique perspective on what is going on in Castiel's (Misha Collins) world. Balthazar is doing things we've never seen an angel doing before." In addition to "Supernatural," look for Roche to return to FOX's "Fringe" in the role of Thomas Jerome Newton, a mysterious humanoid soldier from another universe.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — As previously reported, Brandon Buddy is departing ABC’s “One Life to Live” and now Soap Opera Network has learned the actor has finished taping his last scenes.

After months of rumors and speculation, ABC has finally confirmed that Buddy will be leaving the role of Cole Thornhart, son of Marty Saybrooke (Susan Haskell) and Patrick Thornhart (Thorsten Kaye), despite the actors June tweet that his account was hacked and that he was not leaving the soap.

According to sources, Buddy’s last tape date was late last week with his last airdate expected to be late October/early November. The role will not be recast as the character leaves Llanview alive, but leaves lady love Starr Manning (Kristen Alderson) and their child behind in Llanview.

Buddy made his acting debut on “One Life to Live” when he joined the cast of the drama series in October 2006. At this time is is unknown what the actor has planned for his post-”One Life” future.
