(SoapOperaNetwork.com) – Former “As the World Turns” star joins the cast of “All My Children.”

More than a month after announcing the firings of Adam Mayfield and Brittany Allen and the subsequent hiring of Daniel Cosgrove as Mayfield’s replacement in the role of Scott Chandler, an “All My Children” spokesperson finally announced the name of the actress who will take over the role of Marissa Chandler. Sarah Glendening will begin airing in the contract role on Monday, December 20. She will replace Brittany Allen who makes her last appearance as Krystal Carey and David Hayward’s (Bobbie Eakes and Vincent Irizarry) daughter on Friday, December 17.

Glendening is best known for the role of Lucy Montgomery on CBS’s recently cancelled “As The World Turns.” The actress has done guest appearances on CBS’s “Cold Case” and NBC’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”

The actress who auditioned for the role of Madison North (Stephanie Gatschet ultimately won the role) in 2009 joins a growing number of former CBS and NBC Daytime stars joining the ABC sudser in contract roles as winter approaches. Former “Guiding Light” star Jordi Vilasuso premieres on the soap on Monday, November 15 as Dr. Griffin Castillo; former “Passions” and “Days of Our Lives” star Lindsay Hartley premieres as Carolyn “Cara” Finn on Wednesday, December 8; Former “GL” and “ATWT” star Daniel Cosgrove reclaims the role of Stuart Chandler’s adopted son in January 2010. CBS Daytime mega-star Kimberlin Brown joined the ABC soap earlier this month in the recurring role of the judge in Greenlee Smythe’s (Rebecca Budig) murder trial.
