(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — The veteran soap star leaves “One Life to Live” before his first scenes even air.

ABC Soaps in Depth is reporting that Warlock, who began taping his “OLTL” scenes as Ross Rayburn back on July 19th, has left the soap in order to reprise the role of Frankie Brady on “Days of Our Lives.” Warlock has played the character on and off since originating the role in 1986.

The news comes less than a month after “One Life” tapped Warlock as an emergency recast after learning that the previous actor in the role (Michael Lowry) was unavailable to return due to scheduling conflicts.

However, it remains to be seen if Warlock’s exit from “One Life” will affect the show’s plans for the character, especially since he was only hired for a short-term stint. Nevertheless, expect him to first air as Ross Rayburn on Friday, August 27th, when he is becomes distraught after learning of Téa’s condition.

Warlock is no stranger to soaps, having also appeared on “General Hospital”  and “The Young & the Restless.” In addition, he has also been a regular on shows such as “Happy Days” and “Baywatch.”

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Anytime on ABC.com and SOAPnet.com. Check local listings.
