( — Just days before next cycle’s “Dancing with the Stars” cast is announced during Monday’s episode of ABC’s “Bachelor Pad,” comes word that actor Jack Wagner, who portrays Nick Marone on CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful,” is rumored to be joining the cast in the upcoming 11th season of the hit ABC reality-competition series.

While ABC has had soap stars from the past and present appear on the series over the years, it was always someone from within the ABC/Disney family including the likes of “All My Children’s” Susan Lucci and Cameron Mathison, along with Aiden Turner who appeared in this past spring’s 10th season just after being fired from the ABC soap. “General Hospital’s” Kelly Monaco won it all in the first season of the program in the summer of 2005. Another notable alum is former “SoapTalk” (which aired on Disney cable network SOAPnet) co-host Lisa Rinna. When pressed for a response an ABC spokesman reminds us that the “network does not respond to casting rumors.”

While Jack Wagner portrayed the role of Frisco Jones on ABC’s “General Hospital” from 1983-1988, 1989-1991, 1994 and 1995, it is highly unlikely that the network would be willing to help promote a rivals competing series, so the chances of him appearing are slim. Meanwhile, Mario Lopez was the closest a daytime soap star from another network has ever come to appearing on the show as he had just completed a brief stint on “B&B” just before “Dancing’s” second season premiere in 2006. He finished second with partner Karina Smirnoff.

The official cast of “Dancing with the Stars’” 11th season will be made on Monday, August 30 during ABC’s “Bachelor Pad.”

( — First he has leaving, then he was staying after the actor stated that someone had hacked into his Twitter account. Well now Brandon Buddy really is leaving “One Life to Live,” according to published reports.

Daytime Confidential is reporting that they have learned from setside sources that the 24-year-old actor, who has portrayed Cole Thornhart since October 10, 2006, is leaving town “alive, but not exactly well” sometime this fall when his contract is up. According to an ABC representative, however, the network “does not comment on rumors.”

On Friday, June 18, the following comment was posted on his Twitter page: “It’s a bitter sweet day :( Today I decided I’m not going to re-sign. No more Llanview… Still lots to come from Starr & Cole though!” Only four days later Buddy tweeted that he “Had a hacker. Doing everything I can to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I’m sorry for upsetting everyone, what they said wasn’t true. I love you guys. I want you guys to be happy, I’m really sorry this happened.

Despite Buddy’s denials at the time, if the reports are in fact true, it seems as though the original tweet was right all along and that the “hacker” claim were nothing more than an attempt by the powers that be at “One Life to Live” to push Buddy into doing some damage control. Not surprisingly, Buddy’s Twitter page has since become strangely silent regarding this latest development.

According to ABC, "After getting trapped in an elevator in a burning building, Sam and John get to know each other better than they ever thought they would." ( — ABC Soaps in Depth is reporting that actress Leslie Charleson, 65, who portrays the role of Monica Quartermaine on ABC's "General Hospital," has been taken off contract and has been placed on recurring status, but I'm more surprised to hear that she was even on contract to begin with considering fans haven't seen Monica on an even semi-regular basis, based on what a contract guarantees an actor. Of course, "GH" did provide the actress with a new contract in 2009, which just came up for renewal and as we can see, the show opted not to do so.

Charleson joined the cast of"GH" in 1977 replacing actress Patsy Rahn, who originated the role. She has been nominated for four Daytime Emmy Awards  and four Soap Opera Digest Awards, but has never won. She has appeared in such primetime shows as "Dharma & Greg" and "Diagnosis Murder." She also brought her character, Monica Quartermaine, over to "GH" spin-off's "Port Charles" and "General Hospital: Night Shift" for multiple appearances.

A typical soap contract guarantees a star financial payment of three episodes or days per week irregardless of whether the show fulfills said guarantee. In Charleson's case, the show was paying her, but refused to use her.
