Amber Tamblyn and James Franco Team Up ‘127 Hours’

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- "General Hospital's" Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily Quartermaine) has signed on to star along-side James Franco (Franco) in the upcoming film "127 Hours" by "Slumdog Millionaire" Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle.The film is about Aron Ralston (Franco), a mountain climber who is forced to cut off his arm with a dull knife in order to save his life after being unable to free the lim from under a boulder. According to Deadline.com's Nikki Finke, Tamblyn will portray his girlfriend, whose relationship with Aron will be played out in flashbacks which helps him keep going.Production on the film is scheduled to begin in March in the state of Utah. The film will be distributed by FOX Searchlight Pictures, a division of News Corporation. One Life to Live Bids Adieu to Studio 17

ABC Television's Studio 17, located in the Big Apple, is empty for the first time since the ABC soap moved in more than three decades ago. During "One Life's" time at the studio, nearly three-fourths of the show's 10,617 episodes (which have aired as of February 8th, 2010) were filmed. From the show's debut in 1968 until it expanded from 45 to 60 minutes a decade later, "One Life to Live" was taped at the old TV18 at 101 West 67th Street in New York City. For much of that time (1970-78), "OLTL" taped alongside their sister soap, and fellow Agnes Nixon creation, "All My Children" (which would continue to call the studio home until 1990).
