(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is going down, albeit not for long (we all know that!).

“Generall Hospital” has cast the recurring role of Federal Prosecutor Claire Walsh with actress Dahlia Salem, who begins taping on Thursday, January 28. According to sources, Walsh will represent the United States v. Sonny Corinthos, who is being prosecuted for the murder of Claudia Zacchara.

Salem’s first airdate is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24.

You may have seen Salem in such primetime dramas as “CSI: MIami” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “ER” or even more recently in the ABC series “the forgotton,” but it was NBC’s defunct soap “Another World” where the actress got her start. From 1995-1998, she portrayed the role of Sofia Carlino.

General Hospital” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet.
