( — The invasion of new characters into Llanview continues as “One Life to Live” cast two recurring roles.

Best known for his 1997-2000 stint in Pine Valley as “All My Chidren’s” Dr. Jake Martin, Michael Lowry has been cast by sister soap “OLTL” as a ‘character from the past.’ However, a spokesperson for the show refused to devulge any further information. Hmmm….wonder if this could possibly be the Ross recast, for which the soap recently released a casting call?

Lowry has also spent time on “As the World Turns” as Les Sweeny (2004-05) and on “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Dr. Hillman (2006). No first airdate has been released by “OLTL.”

Joining Lowry in Llanview later this summer will be Broadway vet Nicholas Rodriguez as Nick, who will first air on Friday, August 14th. Look for the character, which was originally named Griffin in the audition script for the role, to come between former lovers Oliver Fish (Scott Evans) and Kyle Lewis (Brett Claywell), when he and Kyle go out on a date. Even though Officer Fish appears to have moved on by hooking up with Layla Williamson, this development is sure to ruffle his feathers. Rodriguez is best known for his performance as the man of the jungle himself in the musical “Tarzan.”

And in other news…

There is no big spoiler here, but we just thought we would share Kassie DePaiva‘s (Blair Cramer) latest message on her Twitter page: “Just got finished working and doing a soap scoop… Sipping a beer and checking emails before I start studying for tomorrow’s ‘OLTL.’” Guess it’s true what they say — you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.

( — Bruce Weitz returns to ABC’s “General Hospital” as Anthony Zacchara.

Nearly five months since he was sent to prison for his crimes, Anthony Zacchara is ready for a visit from one of his enemies on the Friday, July 10 episode of “GH” when actor Bruce Weitz reprises his role as the snarky villain.

Weitz’s appearance is expected to be for just this one episode, but don’t be surprised if he pops back in from time to time as his children’s lives continue to fall apart.

Weitz joined the cast of “GH” in the role of Anthony Zacchara in October 2007 only to leave in November 2007 after Anthony was carted off to the insane asylum. He later returned in January 2008, when Sarah Joy Brown made her grand re-entance to the drama series as Claudia Zacchara – Anthony’s daughter – thus cementing the Zacchara’s as Port Charles’ new premiere family.

Prior to joining “General Hospital,” Weitz appeared in such shows as “ER,” “Judging Amy” and “Sisters.” In 2008, he appeared in an episode of CBS’ “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” He can currently be seen as Larry in the straight-to-DVD comedy “imps*,” along-side 35 other Award winning Hollywood stars.

“General Hospital” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.

( — When he’s not rubbing elbows with “Desperate Housewives” or enjoying his “One Life to Live,” Tuc Watkins turns to the popular website “Funny or Die” for help releasing his comedic talents.

Founded in 2007 by Adam McKay and “Saturday Night Live” alum Will Ferrell, “Funny or Die” has become a highly successful comedy video website, with material from a wide-range of Hollywood celebrities.

“One Life to Live” vet Tuc Watkins (David Vickers) can now be added to the long list of stars, such as Judd Apatow and James Franco, who have posted videos to the website.

“The Sentimentalist,” pokes fun at the recent wave of oddball primetime detectives such as “Monk” and “The Mentalist.” Watkins’ character has a rather difficult time separating his emotions from his work. Co-staring in the video is Brooke Dillman, of “Blue Collar TV,” “The Wayne Brady Show,” and “Good Morning, Miami” fame. Directed by Jeff Drake, the dialouge was written by Tuc Watkins and Molyneux.

The hilarous video can be viewed here, but be advised that it does contain some adult language. For those of you who just can’t get enough of the the actor, click here to revisit the classic “Have a Seat” commerical featuring his David Vickers persona. And don’t miss Watkins’ return to Llanview next month, when David bonds with his newfound family, the Buchanans.
