(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Llanview gets a new health care professional as Terrell Tilford joins the cast of “One Life to Live” in the contract role of Dr. Greg Evans.

With Michael McBain set to leave town next month with wife Marcie by side and Larry Wolek missing in action in recent years, Llanview Hospital is facing a serious doctor shortage.  But the residents of the fictional Pennsylvania surburb needn’t worry.  On June 23rd, a new doctor will ride into to town just in time to save the day.

While “OLTL” is keeping quiet on details of the new doc, it is speculated that he may be the miracle worker brother recently referred to by Shaun and Destiny that may help young Matthew Buchanan regain the use of his legs and walk again.  It also appears that Dr. Evans could prove to be Rachel Gannon’s (Daphnée Duplaix Samuel) supposed boyfriend from Chicago, since both actors are roughly the same age.

Tilford was offered the role that Réal Andrews (ex-Marcus Taggert, “General Hospital”) is reported to have recently auditioned for.  The 39-year-old Tilford portrayed David Grant on “Guiding Light” from 1998-2001 and Dr. Bob Carrington on “Days of Our Lives” in 2008.  In addition, the actor has a long list of small screen credits including appearances on “Coach,” “My Wife and Kids,” “Shark,” “CSI: NY,” “Bones,” “24,” “Star Trek: Enterprise,” and “Cosby.” And Tilford will portray Detective Williams in the soon to be released feature film “Dark House.”

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.
