( — “General Hospital” sets its sights on a summer of hospitality as General Hospital (location) takes center stage.

On the heals of the soaps recasting of Michael Corinthos III with newcomer Drew Garrett, who began airing on Thursday, April 24, the soap has recast the role of Kristina Corinthos with daytime newcomer Lexi Ainsworth beginning Thursday, June 4. Lexi is best known for her role as Molly in 2008′s “Wild Child,” starring Emma Roberts. She has also appeared in the Nickelodean series “iCarly” and the short-lived NBC drama “Medical Investigation.” Look for Kristina to take a rather inappropriate liking to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) as a result of adolescent retaliation against their parents.

In related news, Arizona Diamondbacks left fielder Conor Jackson will portray Michael’s physical therapist on the Wednesday, June 3 episode of the soap. More on Conor’s appearance on the show will appear in the June 29 issue of ESPN Magazine, on newsstands June 19.

Billy Dee Williams reprises his role of Toussaint DuBois on Thursday, June 4. Last seen on the SOAPnet original series “General Hospital: Night Shift” as the janitor at General Hospital, Toussaint will “return to Port Charles during a tour break with the Saints,” said ABC. “He’ll want to see Epiphany [Sonya Eddy] and other residents in town.”

Constance Towers brings Helena Cassadine to Port Charles for another go-around as Helena taunts Rebecca (Natalia Livingston) on Thursday, June 4.

ABC has not confirmed a last airdate for the departing Rick Hearst, who won two Emmy’s for his portrayal of Ric Lansing on the daytime drama series since joining the soap in 2004. Sources, however, state that Hearst will last air in mid-to-late June.

A first airdate for Martha Byrne’s Andrea Floyd, wife of Mayor Garrett Floyd (John Bolger), hasn’t been released, but when she debuts in June she’ll be one angry woman after learning her husband has been keeping some dirty secrets.

“General Hospital” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet.

( — Just as May Sweeps ends, daytime’s number one drama series, “The Young and the Restless,” gears up for the summer heat with explosive storylines and shocking returns.

Raul Guittierez (David Lago) is sticking around for a little while longer as “Y&R” delves further into Raul and Mac’s (Clementine Ford) time outside of Genoa City. It remains unclear how long Lago has signed on for.

Cassius Willis is back as Det. Gil Wallace, who shares words with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) on Monday, May 25.

Jerry Douglas  returns on Wednesday, May 27, as John Abbott takes time from his busy day in heaven to give son Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) the “talk” of a lifetime. Douglas last appeared on May 5.

Corbin Bernsen, son of Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) is back as Father Todd Williams. He re-appears in Genoa City on Tuesday, June 2 and learns that brother Paul (Doug Davidson) has popped the question to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Bernsen’s last appearance on “Y&R” aired in 2004.

On Friday, June 5, Raya Meddine brings Sabrina Newman back to “life.” Is Sabrina’s “ghost” haunting Ashley (Eileen Davidson) or is Adam (Chris Engen) playing another vile joke on step-mommy? Sabrina was killed in a shocking twist of fate as the spouses of Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (David Chow, played by Vincent Irizarry) died in a disastrous car accident in 2008.

Speaking of Adam, Engen has reportedly abruptly quit the soap after rumored battles with producers regarding the future of his character. His last airdate hasn’t been set, but Michael Muhney will take over the role beginning Thursday, June 25.

“The Young and the Restless” airs Weekdays on CBS. Weeknights on SOAPnet.

( — In an explosive turn of events, “The Young and the Restless” has recast the role of Adam Wilson, Victor Newman’s son after a rumored falling out with star Chris Engen.

TV Guide Canada’s Nelson Branco, in an update to his Sud’s Report, broke the news this morning that sources were reporting that Engen had “quit” the CBS drama series after learning that his character would become a potential love interest of co-star Yani Gellman’s Rafe Torress.

“He [allegedly] refused to kiss [his same-sex] co-star Yani Gellman [Rafe]. Chris hasn’t been happy for a while. He doesn’t like the dark direction his character is taking. He’s called in sick a lot recently and has been taking a slew of meetings with Y&R’s [top brass] to discuss his future on the show. Chris is still under contract — and Y&R is seriously thinking of taking legal action.”

When pressed for comment, Engen’s management issued a “no comment.”

Taking over for Engen will be daytime newcomer Michael Muhney (prounounced mu-nee). The actor has had an extensive career in primetime via his work on UPN/The CW’s “Veronica Mars” as Sheriff Don Lamb and Det. Mark Farrell on USA Network’s “The Huntress.” In 1999, the actor starred in the short-lived CBS series “Turks.”

Muhney posted on his Twitter page that “the new job is the likes of which i have never done…and i get to indulge in some interesting, perverse, warped scenarios…”

At press time a last airdate for Engen had not been scheduled. Muhney’s first airdate is scheduled for Thursday, June 25 reports TV

“The Young and the Restless” airs Weekdays on CBS. Weeknights on SOAPnet.

Hickland Finds New ‘Life to Live’

Thursday, May 21, 2009 12:44 AM ET | By Scotty Gore

( — Catherine Hickland returns to Llanview as Lindsay Rappaport to spice things up between Bo and Nora.

Although Lindsay hasn’t been seen being led away in handcuffs after being convicted of murdering evil doctor Spencer Truman (with the exception of Rex Balsom’s dream last October as he went under the knife to remove a bullet from his chest cavity), the firey vixen is set to return to Llanview in only a few short weeks.

Although it remains to be seen if and how the town’s token Rappaport will be granted a release from prison, reports are that she will come between Bo and Nora’s precarious relationship.  Rumors claim that Clint arranges for Lindsay to go free with hopes that she will hook up with Bo, and push Nora away from her ex-husband and into his open arms.  However, a spokesperson for “One Life to Live” had no comment.

The news comes as a suprise to many “One Life” fans who had written off the character following her murder conviction last summer.  Hickland broke the news earlier this week when the actress posted messages on her official Facebook and Twitter pages that “I’ll be returning to ‘One Life to Live’ in June! Stay tuned. :)”  A first airdate has not been set, nor has the length of Hickland’s return been announced.

Prior to joining “OLTL” in 1998, Hickland appeared as Courtney Marshall on “Texas” (1980-81), Julie Cregg and Jenny Diamond on “Capitol” (1983-87), Brooke Logan on “The Bold and the Beautiful” (1987), and Tess Wilder on “Loving” (1993-95) and “The City” (1995-1997).  In addition, she has also guest starred on a number of televsion programs including “Knight Rider,” “CHiPs,” “Law & Order,” “Eight is Enough,” “Vega$,” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”

Hickland, who was taken off contract with “OLTL” in 2005, also runs the highly successful make-up company Cat’s Cosmetics, and recently wrote her first book entitled The 30-Day Heartbreak Cure-A Guide for Getting Over Him and Back Out There One Month from Today.  In addition, the actress has also appeared on Brodway, and performed for audiences as a clinical hypnotist.  Hickland has been married three times, most recently to “All My Children” actor Michael E. Knight (Tad Martin); the pair are currently separated.  From 1984-89, she was married to “Baywatch” star David Hasselhoff.

Look for Hickland to return to “OLTL” sometime in June.  SON will bring you more information as it becomes available.

“One Life to Live” airs weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.
