( — They say daddy knows best, but when daddy tries to kill you, it’s best to get the hell out of the way.

Fathers are supposed to protect their daughters, but not if you’re Anthony Zacchara and your daughter is mob princess Claudia Zacchara. During the Week of February 23 on ABC’s “General Hospital,” look for Anthony (played by actor Bruce Weitz) to hold his daughter, Claudia (Sarah Joy Brown), hostage via gunpoint and a bomb while trying to get his way. Unfortunately for Anthony, he gets captured and hauled off to federal prison on Monday, March 2, which also serves as Weitz’s last airdate as the former mafia kingpin.

Weitz joined the cast of “GH” in the role of Anthony Zacchara in October 2007 only to leave in November 2007 after Anthony was carted off to the insane asylum. He later returned in January 2008, when Sarah Joy Brown returned to the drama series as a new character – Claudia Zacchara, daughter of Anthony, thus cemeting the Zacchara’s as Port Charles’ new premiere family. Brandon Barash portrays Weitz’s onscreen son, Johnny Zacchara, on the soap. Both Barash and Brown remain on contract.

Prior to joining “General Hospital,” Weitz appeared in such shows as “ER,” “Judging Amy” and “Sisters.” In 2008, he appeared in an episode of CBS’ “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” He can currently be seen as Larry in the straight-to-DVD comedy “imps*,” along-side 35 other Award winning Hollywood stars.

“General Hospital” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.

( — “Days of our Lives” has found its new Will Roberts and he’s ready to give parents Samantha Brady (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas Roberts (Bryan Datillo) a wake-up call.

Starting Friday, February 27, look for Dylan Patton to step into the role of Will when he returns from spending an extended trip away from home with his Aunt Carrie and Uncle Austin, who ironically the character once called “Dad.”

“Dylan’s playing the same age Lucas was when I first came on the show. I like him. He’s a very good actor and an earthy, rugged dude,” said Bryan Datillo in a statement released via Soap Opera Weekly

Will was last seen in November 2007, when he was played by actor Christopher Gerse. Christopher began playing Will in September 2003, but was let go in 2007 due to storyline purposes. Upon his return, he’ll be welcomed by his three younger siblings who are in desperate need of some older brother guidance.

Patton’s previous credits include guest-roles on CBS’ “Cold Case” and Disney Channel’s “That’s So Raven.” In 2008, he starred in the films “First Strike” and “So Others May Live.”

( — You know you made it when…Perez Hilton talks about you!

That’s right, “All My Children’s” Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) was spotted by the paparazzi wearing a bikini while taking a stroll on the beaches of St. Bart’s with husband Helmut Huber. One not to pass up the chance to dog a celeb, Hilton surprisingly had nothing but praise for the actress:

On Friday, 62-year old soap diva Susan Lucci hit the beaches of St. Barth’s with her husband.

Can you believe she is in her SIXTIES?!

      Girl, you looking fine!

We know twenty year olds would kill to have a butt like Miz Lucci’s.

      What is your secret, S?

      Tell us stat!

Lucci and Huber will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary later this year. They have two children, Liza (ex-Gwen Hotchkiss, “Passions”) and Andreas.

The actress has been playing the dynamic diva Erica Kane on ABC’s “All My Children” since the series debut of the soap on January 5, 1970. Recently it was announced Lucci, and some of her other cast members, took a pay cut in order to continue her role on the drama series. The series was rumored to be facing cancellation due to low ratings and a poor advertising market.

( — Does she have nothing better to do with her time? She’s already covering all the Awards for the TV Guide Network and danced her way off of “Dancing With the Stars,” but Lisa Rinna figures she can fit in a Playboy cover to show off her configured body.

Rinna will grace the cover of Playboy‘s May Issue in which she lets it all hang out, including the flabby parts. The actress/host was ordered by photographer Deborah Anderson not to hit the gym and tone up for the project, but be her natural self.

“She said, ‘I do not want you long and sinewy and angular and muscular. I want you soft,’” said Rinna when speaking with People magazine.

“This was really hard for me because being 45 years old and posing for Playboy, you want to amp it up.”

Rinna’s biggest fan is her husband and he thinks the photos are “Unbelievable!”

Playboy magazine is rumored to be up for sale after sluggish sales of the once hot property in recent months.

Prior to her hosting gigs on TV Guide Network, Lisa Rinna is best known for her role as Billie Reed on NBC’s “Days of our Lives.” She also starred in the FOX primetime hit “Melrose Place” as Taylor McBride. In 2004, she had a recurring role on UPN’s “Veronica Mars,” in which she played the murdered Lynn Echolls.

( — How one November day turned “Days of our Lives” into a place for the sinking job market.

After NBC made it clear to Executive Producer Ken Corday, and his Corday Productions banner along with Sony Pictures Television, that they would only renew “Days of our Lives” beyond its March 2009 contract expiration if the show found ways to cut costs. It did, and now some of daytime’s biggest stars are now without jobs and the faces of daytime continue to get unfamiliar.

Deidre Hall (ex-Marlena Evans) and Drake Hogestyn (ex-John Black) were the first “DAYS” stars to receive their walking papers just weeks after NBC made their demands. They last aired on January 23.

Recently, it was announced that Stephen Nichols, Mary Beth Evans and Thaao Penghlis were each given their walking papers as well. Nichols and Evans, who portrayed super-couple Patch and Kayla on the drama series, last aired on Tuesday, February 17.

“They’re not leaving Salem. They’re not dying. They’re just not going to be on the air. You might see one or both of them pop up on other episodes, but it’s not going to be a significant exit,” said Corday.

A last airdate for Penghlis and his Tony DiMera character was not made available at press time, but he last tapes on Wednesday, March 4, according to the February 24 issue of Soap Opera Digest.

“I’ve spent over 20 years on that show, and a producer from ‘Passions’ came in with a vision, and all I can say is I’m in good company,” he says.

While she wasn’t fired, actress Rachel Melvin (Chelsea Brady) has opted to not renew her contract with the soap, which was set to expire this Spring.

“I have been with ‘Days of our Lives’ for the past four years of my life. I have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity Ken Corday has given me, and for the growth and education I have obtained from such a hard working group of people,” said Melvin in a statement via her online blog. “At this juncture in my life however, I feel I’ve accomplished and learned all I could have from ‘DAYS,’ and it’s just time to experience new things.”

A last airdate for the actress has not been announced.

Can we expect more cast cuts and changes for “Days of our Lives?” According to Corday, “We’re done.”

          Llanview’s Revolving Door

Thursday, February 19, 2009 11:18 PM EST | By Scotty Gore

( — Here today, gone tomorrow.

Llanview’s newest Buchanan prepares to leave town just as he learns of his true identity. Are Tuc Watkins and “One Life to Live” attempting to set a record for most departures of a single actor on a soap? It appears as such, given that ABC Soaps in Depth is reporting that Watkins recently taped his final scenes with the show, less than a week after his character learned of his new family. This will be Watkins’ eighth departure from the show since originating the role of lovable conman David Vickers in 1994, and the fourth since May 2007. While his latest stint in Llanview was always reported to be short-term, it still comes as a shock to fans to were just beginning to warm up to the fact their favorite con artist has Buchanan blood pulsing through his veins. Look for David to exit Llanview in the coming weeks, but not before he learns that Asa is really his grandfather, and not his father. Given “One Life’s” unusual taping schedule, Watkins’ final airdate will likely be sometime in late March or early April.

Hank Gannon may be returning to Llanview, but that doesn’t mean he’ll stay there. Nathan Purdee returns as the former District Attorney and Nora Hanen’s ex-husband on Wednesday, April 1. However, don’t look Hank to put down roots again
in his old stomping ground. Instead, the actor’s return to “One Life,” is for a ‘limited engagement’ to help reintroduce his daughter Rachel to Llanview. Daphnée Duplaix Samuel first airs as Hank and Nora’s bi-racial daughter on Tuesday, April 7th.

Is Renee Elise Goldsberry reuniting with the cast of “One Life to Live?” No, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that her character Evangeline Williamson won’t be returning to Llanview. The suder is looking for someone who play her body double when the comatose attorney is visited by a familiar face. Rumor has it that “One Life” may be looking to recast the role later this spring, according to ABC Soaps in Depth. Goldsberry is six months pregnant with her first child.

It’s all about me, isn’t it? Kamar de los Reyes, who late last year complained that “OLTL” wasn’t treating his character with any respect, is nearing the end of his run with the show. The actor, who has portrayed gang leader turned cop Antonio Vega on and off since 1995, taped his final scenes on January 27th. As for a final airdate, don’t expect to hear one anytime soon given that a “OLTL” spokesperson claims that the show “doesn’t want to ruin the actor’s upcoming exciting storyline.” Speculation persists that de los Reyes’ co-star and onscreen girlfriend BethAnn Bonner (Talia Sahid Hesser) may not be far behind.

Looks like Llanview won’t get ‘Born’ again after all. SON was first to tell you last week that, despite reports to the contrary, Roscoe Born will not be reprising the role of presumed dead cult leader Mitch Laurence this spring. The same goes for Andrea Evans, who has made no indication thus far that she is bringing Tina Lord Roberts back to Llanview in 2009. Instead, viewers can expect at least one familiar face from Marty Saybrooke’s past to return to Llanview in the coming months./p>

Is a Llanview leading lady being shown the door? Rumors persist that one of “OLTL’s” longtime female veteran cast members may soon be on her way out due to a budget crunch at the long running daytime drama; a spokesperson for the show had no comment.

Former “One Tree Hill” star Brett Claywell finally makes his “One Life” debut on Monday, February 23. Fans may recall that Claywell was originally tapped to play the role of Schuyler Joplin, only to have the show to do an about face and cast “General Hospital” alum Scott Clifton in the role instead. Claywell will now portray Kyle, a lab technician with the Llanview Police Department. The role is recurring.

Florencia Lozano will soon be wrapping up her latest stint as Téa Delgado. Lozano, who signed a short-term contract with “OLTL” last September, is expected to last air sometime in April.

Look for more dayplayer roles in upcoming episodes on March 12th, 24th, and 27th.

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.
