Vienna prepares to work her magic in getting Katie and Brad back together again, while Dusty advises Brad not to be an idiot in letting Craig’s actions ruin what he has with his wife. Katie decides to contact Brad and the two meet at Metro to talk things through. After deciding on taking Craig out of the equation of their lives, they make up. The CBS Daytime line-up is pre-empted on Tuesday, January 20 for President-elect Barack Obama’s Inauguration.

The Inside Story: Indecent Proposal
Craig’s constant contact with Parker sets Jack off, who demands to know why Craig suddenly wants to be ‘involved’ in his son’s life. Not pleased, Jack hightails it over to see Carly. The two instantly get into an argument where Jack threatens to haul Carly into court if she doesn’t keep Craig away from the kids. That day at Milltown Parker tells Craig what happened between Carly and Jack, which prompts Craig into doing what he can to get Carly to ‘see’ him in a new light. Craig informs Carly that he is going to confront Jack to tell him to back off, but it’s Janet that beats Craig to the punch when she advises Jack to stop pushing Carly’s buttons. Jack later meets Carly and tells her that he’s going to stay out of her business. After Jack leaves, Craig shows up and Carly thanks him for his help with getting Jack to leave her alone. Craig instantly takes credit for something he didn’t do and uses it to his advantage to get Carly to say yes to his marriage proposal. ‘AMC’s’ Latest Casting Tidbits

Sunday, January 18, 2009 12:00 AM EST | By Angela Rosa

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — A quick look at some of the characters that will color in the canvas of Pine Valley during the next few weeks.

- Erica (Susan Lucci) brings the mother load to Bianca, Reese and Greenlee’s (Eden Riegel, Tamara Braun and Rebecca Budig) upcoming bridal shower. Literally.

On Thursday, January 29, Greenlee’s mother, Mary, and Reese’s mother, Claire, surprise the brides-to-be with a little help form Ms. Kane. In their latest issue, Soap Opera Digest reports that the magnificent Anna Stuart will be back as Mary; we last saw the character in 2005. For all of us that miss the great Erica and Mary snark, we’ll get a brief moment of that in between mama Smythe getting under her daughter’s skin. Laila Robins will take on the role of Claire Williams.

Mary will appear on just one episode before disappearing again but Stuart reports that the show is booking her for another episode in February; Claire will stick around for two consecutive episodes.

- Colby’s (Brianne Moncrief) old friends, Ren (Chris Henry) and Corrina (Jenna DiMartini), who is seen semi-regularly as Emma Lavery’s (Lucy Merriam) babysitter, will hit the Pine Valley scene again on January 22. The lucky kids are dressed up to face some righetous indignation from their old pal.

- Death be not a hindrance. Erica’s soon to be deceased son, Joshua Madden (Colin Egglesfield), makes an after-death appearance during the week of February 2.

- Tad and Krystal’s custody battle is over but we haven’t seen the last of Livia Frye. Tonya Pinkins will continue to make sporadic appearances on “All My Children.” The legal eagle will next be seen during the week of February 2.

Updated on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — After a minor delay, the SON Top 10 Poll for the Week of January 12-16, 2009 is now available.

After delays held back the posting of the new Top 10 poll, we have decided to extend the voting period by five hours in order to give everyone an equal amount of time to vote for who they thought was the best for the Week of January 12-16, 2009. Polls will now close on Thursday, January 22 at 4:59 AM, ET/1:59 AM, PT. The Top 10 chart will be posted later that day.

Additionally, we have added Scott Clifton (Schuyler Joplin) to the “One Life to Live” Actors list, and removed Justis Bolding (ex-Sarah Roberts) from the Actress list. Bolding last aired on January 7. We have also added Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) and Hayley Erin (Abby Carlton) to the Actress list for “The Young and the Restless.” Davidson was previously not listed due to an oversight. We welcome Natalia Livingston back to “General Hospital” and the Actress list as she re-joins the soap as Rebecca. Lastly, we have added Bridget Forrester and Owen Knight to the Couples list for “The Bold and the Beautiful” and Natalia Rivera and Olivia Spencer to the couples list for “Guiding Light.”

If you find someone missing from the poll or anyone still listed that shouldn’t, please let us know by emailing us.

Voting for the Week of January 12-16, 2009 is now open.

Eligibility: In order for an actor or actress to be eligible for the SON Top 10, the actor or actress must be on-air during the week covering the voting period. If they do not appear on screen during this period, their votes are not included in final Top 10 Rankings. This includes their eligibilty in the couples category. (SoapOperaNetwork.com) — While America gets ready for a change on Tuesday, January 20, when Senator Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America, fans of daytime drama shifted this weeks Top 10 results into anyone’s favor.

In its second week out, the SON Top 10 recorded a record 1,350 total votes. This is a 40% increase in votes over last week. Additionally, 2,579 votes were cast  for 124 daytime actresses and 2,509 votes were cast for 117 daytime actors. 2,554 votes were cast for daytime’s most popular couples.

Holding onto the Top Actor title for the second week in a row, “General Hospital’s” Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) held a commanding lead over his nearest competitor, “All My Children’s” Thorsten Kaye (Zach Slater). The actor had a 352% vote lead over Kaye. As one-half of two popular pairings, it’s no surprise that Burton is well worth the airtime he receives on the daytime drama series.

Jumping from 2nd place to first, “General Hospital’s” Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber) unseats co-star Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio) as Top Actress. McCullough fell to fourth place. Also on the rise, “Guiding Light’s” Kim Zimmer (Reva Shayne Lewis) rose from 5th to 3rd. This is the highest ranking for a non-”GH” actress. “The Young and the Restless’” Sharon Case (Sharon Newman Abbott) delivered a powerful punch as the actress jumped to 7th place from 21st last week. The actress received an 81% spike in votes week-to-week. By comparison, “One Life to Live’s” Susan Haskell (Marty Saybrooke) fell from 10th to 26th place week-to-week.

“General Hospital’s” Elizabeth Webber and Jason Morgan are daytime’s Top Couple for the week after placing third the week prior. Fellow “GH’ers” Maxie Jones and Damian Spinelli received a significant spike in ranking as they placed 10th. Previously they ranked just out of the Just Missed list in 23rd place. Showing the largest gain in any category, “One Life to Live’s” Natalie Buchanan and Jared Banks jump 24 spots from 33rd place to 9th. Last week’s top couple, Robin Scorpio and Patrick Drake, fell from the top to 6th. Rounding out the list was Sharon Newman Abbott and Nicholas Newman of “The Young and the Restless,” who went from 13th to 7th and “Days of our Lives” duo Sami Brady and EJ Wells who fell a notch to place 8th.

After fighting it out with “The Young and the Restless” in last week’s Top 10 chart, ABC’s “General Hospital” was able to hold a solid lead over the CBS drama series this week and claim the Top Soap title. The series held a 54% advantage over “Y&R.” “All My Children” rose a notch to place third, while “Days of our Lives” jumped from 6th to 4th.

Voting for the Week of January 12 – 16, 2009 opens Friday at 4:00 PM, ET/1:00 PM, PT. You can vote here.
