‘One Life’s’ About Face

Monday, December 15, 2008 1:13 AM ET | By Errol Lewis

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — You know how a daytime newcomer by the name of Brett Claywell was supposed to join ABC’s “One Life to Live” in the contract role of Schuyler? Yeah, he isn’t. Scott Clifton apparently can act better.

Clifton, best known for his role as Dillon Quartermaine on ABC’s “General Hospital” from 2003-2007, is joining the show in the now re-contracted role of Schuyler (pronounced “sky-lar”) beginning January 9. Schuyler is a Llanview High School Teacher, who mixes it up with the resident teen set and their parents in the upcoming months. He is also the son of recently deceased Dr. Joplin, who had a severe drug problem.

“One Life to Live” reconceived the character of Schuyler shortly after casting Mr. Claywell, who will instead join the show as a member of the Llanview PD. A first airdate has not been announced.

Claywell, 30, is best known for his portrayal of Tim Smith on the CW’s “One Tree Hill.” He appeared in the drama series off-and-on for the shows first three seasons as the best friend of Nathan Scott (portrayed by James Lafferty). The character re-appeared in the shows fifth season as a pizza delivery boy. He will next appear in the horror film “Babysitter Wanted” along-side “Kyle XY’s” Matt Dallas. The film is set for release in the United Kingdom on February 23, 2009.
