(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Llanview, Pennsylvania will be ringing in 2009 with style, with Puddle of Mudd performing at UltraViolet.

“One Life to Live,” a daytime drama well known for landing big name musical talents like Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, and Nelly Furtado, has added other group to its resume. Kansas City, Missouri based rock group Puddle of Mudd will make their soap debut on “OLTL” at the end of December. The group will perform the hit single “You Don’t Have to Look Back Now,” from their latest album entitled “Famous.”

The group, which was formed in 1993, has experienced a high turnover of members over the years. Current members include lead singer Wes Scantlin, bass player Doug Ardito, lead guitarist Christian Stone, and drummer Ryan Yerdon. The name originated from the 1993 Missouri River Flood, which left a ‘puddle of mud’ on the band’s practice room floor.

Puddle of Mudd has released five albums, which have sold a total of seven million copies, along with several singles that have topped the Billboard Top 100. “Control,” from the group’s third album “Come Clean,” was used as the theme song for the World Wrestling Entertainment’s “Survivor Series 2001.” “Famous,” from their album with the same title, became the theme for “WWE One Night Stand” in 2007, and was also used in the video game “WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008.” In addition, Puddle of Mudd has toured with several other rock groups, including Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, and Staind.
