Brad Pitt Brings ‘4 oz.’s’ to FX

By Errol Lewis

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Former “Another World” and “Dallas” star, Brad Pitt, has partnered up with “Nip/Tuck” creator Ryan Murphy to produce a new drama series for the FX Network.

Produced by Pitt’s production arm, Plan B Entertainment, and penned by Murphy, “4 oz.” tells the story of a sportswriter, who keeps his darkest secret from his wife and two teenaged sons – he is a transexual. The series will chronicle the man’s process of wanting to become a woman.

Murphy, who penned the pilot, hopes the storyline will play out over five years.

“The first season deals with the revelation of his secret,” Murphy said while speaking with Daily Variety. “In the second season, he begins dressing like a woman. The third covers the surgery, and his inherent doubts about going through with it, and by the fourth season, he’s living as a woman and attempting to find love.”

Murphy will serve as executive producer with Pitt and Dede Gardner serving as co-executive producers.

The search for a studio deal and a lead actor are in the works. Production is expected to begin early next year.

“4 oz.” is said to refer to the average weight of a penis, remarkably light given the amount of havoc it creates for men.
