SOAPnet Honors Aaron Spelling in the ‘Hills’

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — SOAPnet, the new way to watch soaps, will honor legendary producer Aaron Spelling during a “Beverly Hills, 90210” Labor Day marathon dubbed “Back to School with 90210.”

“90210,” which aired on the FOX Television Network from 1990 to 2000, was a cultural phenomenon during its time on the airwaves. It created trends and made its stars, the stars of Hollywood. The series also spun-off “Melrose Place,” which starred Heather Locklear. Darren Star (“Sex and the City”) created the series. Aaron Spelling, who died suddenly on June 23, 2006 at his home in Beverly Hills, served as an Executive Producer. He was 83.

Airing Monday, September 4 from 11 AM to 5 PM, EST/PST and again from 5pm to 11pm, EST/PST on SOAPnet, “Back to School” will conclude each marathon with the special, “Beverly Hills 90210: The Final Goodbye.” Clips include actors discussing experiences they had working with Mr. Spelling, however the special originally aired May 10, 2000.

“Back To School With 90210” marathon episodes include:

  • 11AM/5PM – “Class of Beverly Hills” – Brandon and Brenda start school at West Beverly High. Main characters introduced, with the exception of Dylan. (Episode #1991-001, Season 1)
  • 12PM/6PM – “Spring Dance” – The gang attends the spring dance. Brenda and Dylan sleep together for the first time. (Episode #1991-021, Season 1)
  • 1PM/7PM – “Something in the Air” – Donna’s friends and classmates rally for the school board to let her graduate with them. (Episode #1993-77, Season 3)
  • 2PM/8PM – “Hello Life, Goodbye Beverly Hills” – Kelly’s torn when Dylan asks her to join him on a trip around the world, and Brandon proposes to her. (Episode #1995-139, Season 5)
  • 3PM/9PM – “The Penultimate” – Donna accepts David’s proposal. Kelly calls off her engagement to Matt. Dylan graduates from college. (Episode 2000-284, Season 10)
  • 4PM/10PM – “The Final Goodbye” – A charming special in which the stars of “Beverly Hills 90210” discuss the show that made them famous, what it was like to work for the legendary producer Aaron Spelling and what they expect will come of their relationships as the series draws to a close.

The special features interviews and packages with Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders), Tori Spelling (Donna Martin), Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor), Brian Austin Green (David Silver), Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Luke Perry (Dylan McKay), Lindsay Price (Janet Sanders), Joe E.
