(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — He renewed his contract, but there’s still a chance “General Hospital‘s” Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine) will jump ship come midseason.
Christopher, who recently extended his contract terms with the ABC Daytime soap, may find himself hitting primetime sooner, rather than later. Word has it that Christopher, along with Denise Richards and Angie Harmon, among others, is still locked into contracts with Touchstone Television over their ABC pilot, “Secrets of a Small Town,” which the network opted not to place on its fall schedule.
Before the upfronts in May, “Secrets” was the front-runner for the post “Desperate Housewives” timeslot on Sunday nights, but instead that slot went to the Calista Flockhart helmed, “Brothers & Sisters.” Currently, the pilot is being re-tooled for consideration on ABC’s midseason schedule, however rumor has it that NBC may also be interested in the project from “Hospital” Co-Headwriter and Consulting Producer, Charles Pratt. Jr.
Contrary to unsubstantiated reports, Pratt is still attached to “General Hospital,” however he’s currently on a break.
“Secrets,” which takes place in the town of Santa Ruiz, “voted America’s msot desirable place to live,” tells the story of a town full of people who share secrets (pun intended), including a murder and kidnapping of twin high school students, the first major crime since 1909.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, July 18 and 19, we may learn more on what’s happening with this secretive soap that has the industry buzzing as ABC Presents its portion of the Television Critics Association Press Tour in California.
